Didn't watch any of "today's" matches. Was asleep for 2 of them and couldn't be bothered with Spain considering none of our girls were selected for the squad because the coach is an ass.

Pretty much sums up women’s football this match in terms of how bad their finishing isThis Spain v CR is awful. Spain pass it well and then nothing. Crosses are piss poor. Bright spots? CR goalie seems to get in the way of lots of shots. Also Salma Paralluelo who came on and has just gone off looked like a proper winger. Quick, good feet. 50p head like all the others.

Yeah, i agree it’s appalling to watch. Some aspects have improved a lot over the last 10 years but the shooting is as dire as ever. Just watched some highlights (not hair) on BBC and the penalties given are a joke. For one the commentator said 'and there's the contact'. FFS it's a contact sport and contact doesn't equal foul /penalty. And why the fuck are there 32 teams there, most of them would be relegated from the National League. There were 15 men's world cups before it was expanded to 32 teams. This is the ninth version of the women's and it's already at 32.

Like it, or not, the popularity of women's football is on the rise. Little girls and young women deserve to have a game they can play. They deserve to have female footballers to look up to and try to emulate.
