The USA domination of the women's game is over
USA, Germany, Norway and China all former dominant forces in the women’s international game, and all out.The USA domination of the women's game is over
Oh dear, how sad, never mind.Form is very difficult to turn on & off and not sure that USA will have it all their own way vs Sweden. Take Germany as an example. Played really well in their group opener but relaxed too much and were humbled in their 2nd match, just couldn't get back in their rhythm for the 3rd game and ended up on the plane back home. The US just don't look like a cohesive unit this time around and wouldn't surprise me if they go out to Sweden who are in good form and can probably match up physically. In previous tournaments the Americans could just turn up and overpower teams but that is no longer the case.
Definitely a lot of people triggered by her campaigning for equal pay at the national level. But equally, she didn't help herself against Thailand at the last World Cup sliding around like she'd just scored a last-minute winner when she was actually making it 9-0 in a group game against a bunch of part timers. What is it about rapinho? She gets a lot of hate and dislike, even from me, and I'm not sure why tbh. Have I been triggered by unfair media or is it her? Quite unfair it feels
I hope so. They are still a force because of their college set up. It would be nice to see a few more teams coming through, more competition. The USA domination of the women's game is over
For a long time they've dominated because the college sport system attracted large numbers to the sport (in comparison to other countries) and the investment and professionalism of their league meant the national team had a broad selection of full-time professional players playing regular competitive club matches...their fitness, sharpness, speed and strength across the whole squad was hard to match. The USA domination of the women's game is over
Good point, feels odd seeing it written down like that.USA, Germany, Norway and China all former dominant forces in the women’s international game, and all out.
Japan were always the favouritesCheered that VAR decision like a City goal. So good to see those smug Americans in tears. Well done Sweden. Big chance for our girls now aswell with the favs out!
