Fighting

I remember the League Cup defeat at Chesterfield in 2006, and being surrounded by 40 year old smackheads fighting with each other.

Ten years later, we won the League Cup at Wembley, and I was surrounded by 50 year old cokeheads fighting with each other.

At least the drugs have upgraded.

It's not just the football... has anyone here been along to recent gigs by bands who's songs are often played in the Etihad at HT/FT ?

Stone Roses, Oasis, I'm a big fan of these bands but would not attend their gigs ever again as its guaranteed carnage full of every scrotey Twat on one big drug fuelled pissup not even there for the music - just to throw piss around and fight.

That's their enjoyment. Ok.
I'd rather spend my £xxx on actually watching the football match/music gig and so on.

I'm sounding like a right old codger Emmerdale watching knob but there is a level of decency which is always broken by this group of people.... I always sing at matches, enjoy the occasion, but I ain't throwing beer around, chanting Munich references and stealing cans of lager in the concourse at Upton Park, or letting off fire extinguisher's lol...

I think the fans you described in the last paragraph are a different set from the fans that kick off with other fans or even other blues. Whilst they can be annoying if you're getting soaked in lager etc i don't believe there's any intent to cause harm or piss anybody off, they're just having what in their eyes is a laugh and are guilty of nothing more than a lack of consideration for others. The ones that kick off with anybody are the real nobheads and tend to be a different group of people, generally much older.

I agree with you on the music bit though. I don't mind Oasis. Stone roses etc i'll listen to it if it's on but i'd never choose to go watch just them, i did however see them at V festival a few years back. Spent most of the day at the front of the stage watching all different acts, crowd was a decent friendly bunch until it got to Noel Gallagher followed by the Stone Roses and suddenly all the scum came from nowhere pushing to the front attempting to kick off with anyone that looked at them.

maybe you have a higher tolerence level.....

I actually don't. I'm easy to wind up and take things personally when perhaps I shouldn't. I'm no naive fool either. Working class background and seen pretty much everything.

My Seasoncard is in 117 so I mix with the vocal lot each time.

i think its unfortunately the culture of the time. I'm in at uni and a lot of people take drugs/ get blind drunk at weekends. thats always happened, but it seems like more than ever now though. If you wanted to buy drugs you could easily get them wether on a night out or the football.
The culture of the time? This has been going on for centuries!
