Wow! Is it sexist to say you have awesome taste for a girl Sambaboys?
Yeh that probably is sexist innit. Its just that most girls I know, if asked for their three favourite films, would pick Titanic and Jennifer Aniston's last two medicore rom-coms.
Will be back soon with some of mine.

Yeah it is sexist ..................

I love Audrey Hepburn films too. Got a black and white frame of her on my wall.
Breakfast at Tiffs obviously. And Roman Holiday. But also some of her others like Charade and Funny Face. I saw How To Steal A Million again recently and she still makes my heart implode every time she’s on screen.

A fan of Marilyn too. One of her best – Niagara is on FILM4 tomorrow at 5.15.

If you like 500 Days of Summer (and I agree about the soundtrack which is amazing) have you seen Nick and Noarh’s Infinite Playlist? Quite a similar film in many ways but IMO its even better.

Dan In Real Life is a great shout! An under-rated gem of a film. :)

Two films I adore and not many have seen (even though they’re classics) are Harold and Maude and Badlands.
There’s also a film called Beautiful Girls which is brilliant starring Matt Dillon…and Ghost Dog: Way of the Samurai which is heart-breakingly fantastic (starring Forrest Whittaker)

In fact I’m just going to throw out some random favourite films –

I love Shane Meadow’s stuff – A Room For Romeo Brass, Twenty Four Seven (there’s a bit where the boxers are in Wales camping and The Charlatans’ North Country Boy blasts out – love it!!), Dead Man’s Shoes.

I love the British ‘kitchen sink’ dramas – Saturday Night, Sunday Morning, This Sporting Life, A Room At The Top

I love Woody Allen films. The early silly stuff like Sleeper and then his greats like Manhatten, Annie Hall, Crimes and Misdemeanours. A recent one of his Vicky Cristina Barcelona is well worth watching too.

Westerns – Hud (Paul Newman at his absolute best), Red River. My favourite ever film is Once Upon A Time In The West which I watch every few months. Bit obsessed with Ennio Morricone’s scores. The man is a true genius.

Musicals – Guys and Dolls, Calamity Jane

Comedies – Caddyshack, Young Frankenstein, Clerks (I love Kevin Smith films), Office Space (the one decent Jennifer Anniston film in existence haha)

Tons of foreign films, classic and new, 70s American stuff like Mean Streets, Dog Day Afternoon….aaagh I could go on forever.

-- Tue Apr 20, 2010 2:14 pm --

Haha just seen your reply. Yup it was sexist. What I obviously meant was you have awesome taste in films. Full stop.
