films that make your eyes moist

Not really a "mard arse" but I must admit in the "Green Mile" when they kidnap Big John Coffee (sp) and take him to the Governors house and he rids his wife of cancer, that really did for some reason have the old tear ducts going !!

Passion of the Christ.

Im agnostic but this is the most powerful, emotional film I have ever sat through. The subtitles do not detract as there is little dialogue and it is mainly visual.

Field of Dreams

'Build it....'

Fantastic film, one of my favourites. The scene when the kid is choking and Burt Lancaster steps over the line gets me every time.

Father - son moments in movies get me. Had a great relationship with my Father, who died too soon for me, and now with my own son. Also, when someone overcomes great personal odds to become lauded by his family and friends. Those types of "overcoming adversity" stories get me, too.

I'm a big softie!!

This did me in....

Never seen Schindlers List. I like to watch films for entertainment and escapism. The subject matter in Schindlers List is just too harrowing, so I've always dodged it.
I thought it was boring tbh. Haven't seen it for a while though...although I probably won't ever bother again. I went to Auschwitz when I was in Krakow so maybe I'd be more 'interested' if I were to ever see it again.

a cinema masterpiece. educational and and advert for how one man can make a difference.

Water ship down made me cry back then it makes me cry now , as do bambi and ET

But whilst I will cry when I see beautiful films like cider house rules and the brilliant Dead Poets society I think the actor and films that have stirred the most tears are the amazing movies Gerard depardieu did - Cyrano de Bergerac, Jean de florette and manon des source - simple cheap films but absolute tear jerkers - the French certainly do emotion in their films as Amelie made me shed a tear too but in a different way.

Google 'the execution of Amon Goeth' the commandant of Plaszow on which the film is based, for a real execution it's funny as fuck, the Poles botch it twice and have even got masks on like Batman and Robin
