Final Ballon D'or list - 3 city players (page 3)

It's obvious that the winner will be either Ronaldo or Messi but I am still incensed that Silva wasn't shortlisted. Absolute farce.

Take a look at @FutbolSergi's Tweet:

Final 23 announced. Aguero, Yaya and Kevin de Bruyne

Yaya always moaning about getting no recognition when he gets plenty. Then we have the best player in the Premier league never getting a mention in Silva, doesn't say a word about it. Get the feeling he probably hates the spotlight anyway but still annoying when you watch him week in week out & see just how good the guy is that he never gets any recognition for his talents.

It is absolutely criminal how overlooked David Silva seems to be in World Football, and in fact in English football too. This is Silva's sixth season at City yet, in the first 5, he's been named in the PFA team of the year just once. Coutinho was named ahead of him last season, Gerrard and Lallana the season before, Mata and Carrick the season before that. Scott Parker has been named in the team of the year as often as Silva has since he joined the Premier League, Scott fucking Parker!

The Ballon D'Or list is always a bit of a farce, proven by the fact that on the longer initial list we had Christian Atsu and Massimo Luongo included!

Ballon D'Or is a farce, just like pretty much every competition when it's about naming best player, best team, best manager, team of the week/month,season, and whatever shitcompetition exist within that range. I only care about the competitions when City can win silverware by playing football and getting results on the pitch. Ok, the odd exception maybe POTM within the club, voted by actual fans. Fans, a group of people long forgotten by the glittering deluded and cheating VIP's that hold on to their postitions withing ruling football-organisations for free bankets and free travelling, picking up some money to hand over their vote for whatever their vote is needed.
These competitions would only be a good stage for any prizewinning footballplayer or manager to make a statement what is wrong with football nowadays. As if that is gonna happen...ever.

Good to see Pellegrini's comments today in his press conference. When asked about Aguero he confirmed a month out on the sidelines and said he's not surprised he's nominated but he is surprised he's never won anything in England! Damn right. And you can add Silva to that.

Agree fully about the lack of recognition for Silva.

I was also a bit confused and disappointed by the Aguero comment as he has already been out for nearly two weeks...that would mean a total of almost 6 weeks out.

Ronaldo won the FIFA World Player of the Year in 2008 with Utd

The only British club winner so far

Luongo only made the list because he was the best player of the Asian Cup.

I think it's a bit much us taking credit for KdB.

Am i right in thinking this is just a provisional list? it's just that i can't see Tony Marshall anywhere.
