Finally Hughes swallows his pride

Personally I would always play Garrido in our Home games but leave Ball for those tricky Away games where tough tackling is more important than adventurous runs. If Garrido had played yesterday, we would probably have won 6-0 again. So why did Hughes remove Richards at half time? An interesting decision. I would also have kept Phil on for at leasat 60 minutes to maybe get his hat-trick.

Both are on borrowed time, come Jan I think one will leave and a new one will come back.

Nothing to do with Hughes' pride, both have positives and negatives and he picks whoever he thinks is better for certain games.

Garrido go done by Reo-Coker several times for pace and guile, he dropped him like a stone, but ten brought he back for the Uefa games. Hughes must have thought this was more aof a Ball game, even though both full backs struggled.

Both carrying slight injuries.

Well I am new to this forum and have been reading all of your comments. True blues at heart and forever optimists.

I admit I have doubts about Hughes but we must stick with him like the reds stuck with Fergie, remember he was only one game away from being sacked.

ADUG want to attract tourism to the UAE and become the entertainment capital of the world. Man City are part of this plan and they will grow them into the biggest football entertainment company in the world.

Everything is at the birth stage and the growth is now needed. The club will have to grow, Players will have to grow, staff will have to grow and the Manager will have to grow. But, so will the fans because if their plans work City will no longer belong to Manchester but to the rest of the World.

Remember the ADUG group members were educated in America so have that attitude of winning is everything but being businessmen they build everything around a 5 year plan. Success will undoubtebly come but we need to support the club and the players we currently have. We had a great win against Hull when everybody turned up and played much better than they have been doing, lets just hope they all turn up again tommorrow and stuff big Sam.

Pessimists say the glass is half empty
Optimists say the glass is half full
A good Manager gets a smaller glass

Let just hope that Mark Hughes gets the correct size glass and everything fits perfectly into it, and then the correct size trophies start coming in.

Trust me having worked in L A for ten years and dealt with people from the UAE they will not settle for anything less no matter what it costs.

Merry Christmas and a Fantastic New Year to all City Fans.

Garrido was reported to be carrying an achilles strain. Not sure if he's fully recovered. I like Garrido. Improved a lot this season - which I suppose is only natural as he gets used to the English game.

Just a point on Elano....SWP commented in an interview on the official site which we should take to heart

SWP also took time to laugh off media stories over a divded City dressing room, adding: "By time every negative rumour reaches the 1,000th person it has become something different than when it started.

"Ask any of the players and they will tell you that there are no problems between any of the players or the manager and coaching staff. People could see that on the pitch.

"There is too much talk going on from people who don't know what is going on. Until they are in the dressing room and know what is what they shouldn't try to guess what is going on in.

Ball is better at defending/
Garrido is better going forward

Either way we need a new LB.

My problem is Jo, im glad the kid is getting his chance but hes just not showing any intrest or potential.

at the end of the day ball is shite and garrido is better at both defending and attacking. If we're playing away from home when we're getting closed down quicker surely we'd need a better and more composed passer? Instead of the long ball merchant ball who CONSTANTLY gives away cheap free kicks and goes missing.

Garrido never gets a tackle in tbf.
