Ok, I’m dreaming, but, can you imagine the fallout from this?
Bring it on City, please. We’ve hit a wall, not going to win the league (or anything for that matter), but sign the best player the world has ever seen. How many shirts would this sell?

Messi is better than anyone in our current side, albeit to get the best out of him we'd need to build around him which would be astronomically better than we are now but we don't have the runners unfortunately
 
This team lacks pace, strength, mobility, endurance and hunger to be the best

So yea... good idea buying a (5ft7) 37 year old who has already cashed himself out of top level football and walks around the pitch

For sure wouldn't work in this side but if you build around Messi he is still the best player. He creates space for himself so easily
