(Up to) 200 million Euros per annum but still an astronomical amount. Oh, and backdated to 2012 as well! And to think, people knocked our Etihad deal but that is completely dwarfed in comparison.

Be interesting to see what happens with this seeing as though PSG are a French club plus the well-publicised links Platini's son has with them

Considering Platini's son is employed by PSG and the Qatari owners, we aren't going to see any investigation into this.

Its great news. In reality it means FFP is dead in the water. if UEFA take sanctions against any club and it goes legal then this PSG deal will be the benchmark regarding any investigation.
Has Napoleon met his Waterloo? Sounds like it!

Nice location by the way sir.

Re: Financial Fair Play will not affect us.

Wasnt our Etihad deal 400 million over 10 years? So 40 mil a year. How the hell can PSG justify that to Uefa, what a crock of shite. It doesnt include shirt sponsorship or stadium naming rights so all it can really be is an advertising deal for Qataris tourism board. Absolute piss take and if Uefa don't do anything then its just an absolute free for all from now on.

Re: Financial Fair Play will not affect us.

Does this new FFP in the premier have the power to look at sponsorship deals and say they fair value?

I know it's "only a blog" so no idea as to track record and veracity but if that quote is accurate I would love to be a fly on the wall in Napoleon's plush UEFA office when it all becomes apparent!

The club has been in constant dialogue with UEFA regarding our finances so our financial results are unlikely to come as a surprise.

Thee was some noise when the Eithad sponsorship was announced but now it all gone quiet.
probably because the media assumed all middle eastern business owners were in the same clique, and therefore it was a related party transaction, and have since (presumably) been quietly corrected. It's actually not too lucrative a deal for the stadium and the shirt anyway

Re: Financial report?

They can't kick us out, otherwise they are practically saying we'll close your stand if your racist but we'll nuke your city if you don't break even on your financials....... Even if we make a loss, as long as it isn't considerable I don't think they'll be able to do anything.

Re: Financial report?

UEFA are desperate to ensure that the European Commission and the Court of Arbitration for Sport don't kick out FFP.

At the moment they've got the support of those institutions because FFP is bringing some stability to football finances, reducing overall losses. But they'll soon change their tune if FFP is simply used as a mechanism for creating barriers to entry, preserving the closed shop of "elite" clubs.

FFP will only survive if the most severe penalties are restricted to those clubs which can't pay the bills (Malaga) or clubs which persistently make large losses and do not make a serious attempt to curb those losses (as that would be anti competitive and financially de-stabilising). What UEFA will not be allowed to get away with is imposing draconian penalties on clubs that make initial losses before becoming profitable.

City are a huge success story. A struggling business has been transformed by a new owner who has invested a large amount of cash, not debt. That business has then become successful in its sector and is well on its way to becoming financially self sufficient. Along the way it has supported a major local urban regeneration project. That's exactly the type of business that the EU like to promote. There's no chance that they'll support UEFA if it chooses to penalise City just as the club becomes profitable.

Re: Financial report?

We will make a loss but it will be less than what it was last time and does FFP not want to see a downward trend in losses before eventually breaking even/making a profit?

Maybe, maybe not. But if they did and they had the power to impose sanctions, our league would become downgraded in status, just what TV companies and advertising outlets want. NOT.
