Personally,i would say finish 4th becuase of all the benefits of the Chimps League (better players).
But i think its a very sad state of affairs for football in general when you are rewarded for finishing 4th rather than actually winning something.
Surley football is going 'arse about tit'?

Am i wrong?

If you win the FA Cup aren't you given a place in the Europa League? To be fair i think finishing 4th in the best league in the world is more difficult that winning a domestic trophy so for me thats why the reward should be greater.

I'd prefer to finish 4th and qualify for the Champs League, not just to attract better players to generate income for when Twatini introduces that rule on spending within your means.

Was just about to ask this myself,For me Chimps League all the way i said here yesterday in a couple of post with the Stoke away/ Chelsea away cup ties to forget about the cup and have a real go for 4th spot,As much as i want to see City win a trophy they will come with the better players we can attract as a top 4 side.

So you've given up on the cup already?

We still have to play United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs, Villa, Everton, Birmingham, Fulham, Stoke, Sunderland in the league. This is about as hard as it gets. I reckon we still have a better chance of winning the FA Cup than finishing fourth in the league.

Best league in the world? Your having a bubble mate. Have you not seen Stoke, Wolves, Liverpool, Hull, Portsmouth and Blagburn playing head tennis this season?
Fucking shite league this year. La Liga pisses all over it.

FA Cup every time.

You measure the success of a club in trophies won and there is a reason for that.

Look at Arsenal, pressure on Wenger from the fans and media because he has only qualified for Champs League for 5 years.

I agree.

The Premier League is overhyped shite. Too much is at stake nowadays, so there are more long-ball, play-it-safe tactics than ever.

The success of the top teams in Europe does not make the Premier League one of the world's best. If you look at teams outside of the SKY 4, England's performance in European competitions in recent years has been woeful.

It has a lot to do with English clubs not taking UEFA cup/Europa League or whatever seriously enough. Neither do the Spanish or Italians. How else can Ukrainian and Russian teams win it.

The 4th spot CL place in the prem should be given to the FA cup winner and the UEFA cup winner should get a place in it as well. Then the clubs would have a real go for those competitions.

They're still tough games and they still have to be won.

Seville won the UEFA Cup on back-to-back occasions in 2006/07. They beat a fellow Spanish team in one of the finals. And you can't tell me that City didn't care about the UEFA Cup last season.

But I do think that there may be a case for giving a CL place to the FA Cup winners. It would add something to the competition. I don't see why a team finishing fourth is anymore deserving of a place in the CL than a team that actually wins a cup competition.

I know, I know.
But you're making it sound like we're terrible at home. When we aren't.

Every game can be won and lost. But with those teams coming to us, and us lot up for them, it's going to be hard for them.
