Finish 4th or Win The FA Cup?

You never know what's around the corner. So I'd rather win the FA Cup.

Where is the romance in finishing fourth? Maybe we would attract a better quality of player, but what would be the point if we were to be knocked out in the preliminary round by FC Wanker from Bulgaria?

This club desperately needs a trophy as soon as possible. If the Sheikh was to pull out at the end of the season, we could at least say we had something to show for his efforts. I'm not saying he would withdraw, but nothing in football is ever certain. Which is why I believe silverware up front is the winner everytime.

It's a bit complacent to just assume that we will be the biggest and most successful club in years to come. I take nothing for granted, so the sooner we can win something the better.

Why is it that fans can wait another year or two for a trophy (the REAL purpose of football), but are desperate to finish fourth ASAP? People talk as if we have a poor squad at the moment.

Forget the banner at OT, because that's coming down soon enough. A top Four finish this year would mean attracting some top players to the club in the summer, and leave Liverpool in the shit. So, in the long term best interests of the club, it has to be a top Four finish imo.

I'd be really depressed if anyone old enough to remember football before SKY was voting for a champions league place.
The wonderful FA Cup thank you very much!!

Was just about to ask this myself,For me Chimps League all the way i said here yesterday in a couple of post with the Stoke away/ Chelsea away cup ties to forget about the cup and have a real go for 4th spot,As much as i want to see City win a trophy they will come with the better players we can attract as a top 4 side.

So you've given up on the cup already?

We still have to play United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs, Villa, Everton, Birmingham, Fulham, Stoke, Sunderland in the league. This is about as hard as it gets. I reckon we still have a better chance of winning the FA Cup than finishing fourth in the league.

You do realise that there are 14 games left, which is only 4 from half a season?

3/4 teams in the league have to play the top four yet, including the challengers.

I look at Villa and Liverpool and their respective run-ins. We have by far the hardest.

Forget FA Cup...imo, it was over once we were potentilally drawn away to Chelsea...Of course I still dream!!

As for the league...unless there is a serious change in attitude, 4th place is a pipe dream...and lets pray Pompey don't go into administration and Villa, Spuds and Pool all lose form

Sorry if it comes across a bit bleak but this is from a City lad who was at the '81 final replay as a 17year old and would love to see a different situation and stop having to take years of wind ups from Rag colleagues.

P.S. In all my years, never have I seen a city side more without a true idenity...wish it was otherwise but all the money over the past three years has left me cold
