Fireworks/Bonfire night.

It's slowly dying a death thankfully. When I was a kid every street collected wood etcetera for weeks before. Who remembers raiding another streets stash or them stealing yours? Now you hardly see a public bonfire. There used to be loads of penny for the guy's on every corner but like the bonfires I don't see any now. This year is the first year I've hardly heard any fireworks, normally it's going for weeks before. Except for the actual night the only ones who seem to enjoy it are teenage yobs using them maliciously.

Personally I think they should never be on general sale but families should be able to pre order a set amount and only collect them on the night. This doesn't spoil the fun for kids but it does stop yobs causing weeks of misery setting them off at all hours
We too had a neighbourhood10bonfire on the croft at the back of our house. Each family brought either fireworks, treacle, baked spuds or something to the collective. My birthday is on the 4th November, when my dad was asked what to buy as a present, he would say "my son loves fireworks". I'd get about 10 bob from some uncle and the rest literally went up in smoke.

I have two rescue dogs that I take to Centreparcs in Cumbria on bonfire weekend each year, just to get away from the huge industrial fireworks that people bloody set off right outside our house. The three weeks leading up to tonight has been absolute hell . I work with ex service men that quake at this time of year.
We are going out into the middle of nowhere Cumbria tomorrow, tonight has been hell for my dog and us.

So it is quite out that way then?

Was thinking about going to bowscar around junction 41

It's definitely quiet. We went just a little bit further than bowscar. I absolutely love Cumbria. I would definitely come up this end tomorrow if I was you? The walks are great and tomorrow night will be just as bad as tonight.

Abit late now I guess, we use to use something that you plugged in to help keep the animals calm.
Use to get it from the vets but cant remember what the name was but it worked fairly well
Maybe feliway. Got it plugged in, also been giving our rescue cat a tablet in food for few weeks on advice of vet.
