First away game.

The first time I saw City was away at Sheffield United in 1967. We lost. It was a Sunday school trip. We played a school in Sheffield in the morning, then went to Bramhall Lane in the afternoon.

My first proper away day was in 1973 (ish) to Wolves and we lost 5-1, and losing at away games was the norm back then.

It's a lot different now. I can't remember many victories on the road at all back then. We couldn't beat York away. Or Bury.

United when I was mascot December 2006, lost 3-1 Trabelsi scored a screamer. Think my next away after that was Spurs January 2014 5-1 win, got a good record from then onwards watching City away especially in London!

Reading 99
Not 100% but I think it finished 3-1 City

It did courtesy of two Terry Cooke free kicks.

England played that day at the same time and half the Reading fans never showed for the second half to watch that match.

Jesus mate, I'm impressed that I even remembered the score. Fair play.

Just stuck in my head with everyone leaving at half-time. Remember getting the ground was a nightmare also as the roads had also not been completed to the new ground.

At the swamp 1968 Best scored after 1 min and we went onto win 3 1 Lee and Bell were unbelievable that night !

Pretty hazy but I'm thinking Sheff Utd in the mid 70's.

Think it finished 2-2 and Peter Barnes(?) scored from a very improbable angle

I was also at that game 13 at the time stood behind goal (cowshed) we got promoted that season 65/66.

Me too. I was just 10. Missed most of the first half because me dad had to park our van miles away from the ground it was that congested. Ended up standing in an open corner overlooking the 'cow shed' but could only see half the pitch. Thought it was great!!

Leicester in January 1973 in ended in a 1-1 draw. Friends dad took us he was a Leicester fan and we sat in the old double decker above the kop.
