First day covers , old coins and an iron from 1975

the best way to send vast amounts of undeclared money abroad without detection is to buy a really rare old stamp worth thousands of pounds, stick it on an envelope, carefully place a new modern larger stamp over the top of it, one that covers the postage fee.
all the recipient has to then do is simply peel off the newer stamp and sell the old stamp and the job's reet.

We sold a load of inherited FDCs a few years ago. The only one that got 'good money' was for the Concorde first flight... About £3.80 as I recall.

Don't book that holiday just yet.
my uncle dennis (ex-RAF) was a fireman at Filton airport, where the Concordes used to go for their service.
we used to visit him in bristol once or twice a year.
back then security wasn't what it is now and the fella on the gate used to just give us a nod.
i'm by no means the only person to have flown supersonic on a concorde, people paid handsomely for the privilege,

but it was cool as fuck as a teenager being the only passenger onboard one when they tested it out post-service.

boom!
