First Direct

Ive been wanting to switch from Halifax and all the great comments about First Direct have convinced me too.

Yep, I've been with them of about 20 years including the last 15 where I have lived all over the world. No complaints at all even with my rather complex tax situation at times.

Been with them for 7 years now and would echo other comments on this thread - always top notch customer service. Highly recommended.

I bank with them and same opinion as everyone else, top notch. Bit too strict on loans though for my liking!

I sometimes speak to a lad from the Yorkshire call centre who says he is best mates with Milner. I always speak to him when my city dd has gone out.

I've had various First Direct accounts for the last 15 years or so and have had no problems.

But I've never had a problem with LLoyds and I've used them for 38 years.

And when I worked for a bank they forced me to open a current account with them to have my salary paid into. I never had a problem with them either.

Aren't all banks the same these days?

Most are, but I wouldn't bother with Santander, their customer service is woeful and you end up paying for their tardiness
