First game in 2 years......

We used to have season tickets back in the Kinky days. Back when it used to be like £40 a drive. We are coming up tomorrow. Father, brother and myself. Where do you recommend that is near the ground.

Up for meeting a few Blues as well. Dad is on the other forum. Let's do this.

Thank you Blue Moon for the advise

Boozer near the ground mate.

It is not very often we come up these days. Would be good if some of you can recommend a drinking point. We will probably arrive about mid day.

-- Sat Sep 10, 2011 1:45 am --

Quick input would be much appreciated, starting to feel a bit drunk right now. Where shall we meet the blues (arriving at about noon)

Mary D's is up at the South Stand end, over the road opposite the ground (you can't miss it and there'll be plenty about)

City Square is down the north stand end of the ground, with big screen video links showing all the prematch. Dunno what time it starts there. I'd recommend a couple in Mary D's then move down to City Square for an hour about 1.30; that way you mix it up a bit.

Is 'The Manchester' open again? Thats not as big as Mary D's, but offers a drinking environment without overly loud music or arsehole staff (ish)

Everyone seems to say Mary D's is a shit hole these days. Me and old man used to drink at the Swan before games, is City Square worth doing?

-- Sat Sep 10, 2011 2:00 am --

About to leave. Me, my old man and bro are coming.

What about The Grove or the Vic up Ashton New Rd? A bit of a trot back to the ground (10-15 mins depending how fast you can walk!) but good boozers and cheap beer.
