Is there a way to go straight to the first new post on a thread without having to remember which page you were up to? Some forums offer this facility.

Is there a way to go straight to the first new post on a thread without having to remember which page you were up to? Some forums offer this facility.

As long as you're logged in it should take you there although it's a little hit and miss for some reason when I'm at work only.

yes click on the dot next to the thread

Just click on the thread title, unless it's been merged or you've not been on it for ages it should take you to the first unread post.
