First Signing Announcement Imminent

Dzeko wanted Juve but he has been happy in Manchester.. He hasn't played great thus far but he always looks happy.

He'll come good - just needs team to play to his strengths i.e. crosses!

Arsene Wenger was correct when he said a club should think very carefully before signing a player who would believe that he is doing the club a favour by playing for it. I suspect that Robinho thought this way and, perhaps at a crucial time in his City career, so did Adebayor.

This might perhaps concern me for some players being suggested as potential City signings this summer (e.g., Ronaldo). However, I would NOT have any such worries regarding players such as Sanchez, Pastore or Aguero. The fact that some player might choose Barca or Real Madrid as his first choice should not count against him in the slightest with City fans. I am confident it won't do so with Mancini and Marwood.

Agreed, just look at the Tevez situation although I think he'd be the same even if he had ended up at Real Madrid!!!

I would prefer not to get any player who comes here thinking we're his second (active) choice. We need to be signing the likes of Kompany, Zabs even Silva (for an expensive first choice). The problem is spotting these players and with the calibre of players we are looking at trying to get most of the big sharks are already circling. The vast majority of players are going to want to sign for your Real, Bayern, Barca, Milans (even the scum and Chelski) in preference to a newcomer to the CL who may or may not progress to be Tier 1 club. :-(

I'm still confident we will see a couple of class signings but I think we may also get 3-4 who appear underwhelming but will improve the overall squad quality. Don't forget we are trying to get rid of a raft of players and we really NEED 25 effective players for next season, even if they are not all top class.

A lot of people are saying that, but from what I'm aware heading has never been the best part of his game. Yeah he's big, so he's inevitably going to get his head on the end of a couple, but I think at Wolfsburg he was more known for being good with it on the ground, believe it or not.

I still think he will come good too.

If Sanchez wanted to play for Manchester City he would of come out in the media and expressed it already. I think Barca is his preffered move but they have pulled out as there small budget only allows them to push for FAB.

Sanchez might be forced to play for Mancity although he doesnt want to. How many times has this happened in the past where a player is not totally set for a club and ends up playing poorly and looks disinterested. I hope the Sanchez saga develops to a more positive one.

Truth is, no one has a clue what the first signing will be.
rag media will never print a story saying a top player wants to sign for City !

We still have Tevez who feels this way. And Adebayor never felt that way. Just wasn't getting an opportunity.

good point. I believe he wants to play in the Prem as i saw an interview after the world cup after Chile's last game and he said the EPL is the best league in the world and he would love to play alongside some of the greatest names.

City sure do deliver on that... Silva, Tevez, Yaya, Dzeko, Kompany. ;)
