First word that comes into your head when describing Rishi Sunak.

He clearly wastes no time in telling people that his parents were GP/pharmacists, but I would think that doing this marks you out fairly clearly as being middle class.
To try and make himself sound like he was in touch with ordinary people, he used to say that his mother worked in a chemist shop, rather than that she owned a pharmacy. No mention of his father being a GP. So fuck off with your fawning bollocks.

Thanks for the contribution big man.

So what you’re accusing Sunak of, and the thing that clearly makes you so very angry, is that he once used the exact same ruse that Starmer employs all the time to make him sound more relatable to ordinary people like yourself.

You know, the one where he says that his Dad worked in a factory, without actually telling people that he actually owned his own business and worked for himself, just like Sunak’s mother did?

Must have slipped your mind that one or, more likely, you just don’t think before you start shouting your mouth off.

O'Farrell.

Quite well-regarded when he took the job, but clueless in practice.

I admit to disappointment. OK, he's a Tory, but I thought he had a vague air of competence about him. But he plays the populist strings just like Johnson did, and has no answers for the real issues.

Being a self employed toolmaker isn’t the same as owning a business unless you count being a sole trader/contractor as being a business owner which no doubt you are. Owning a business with no assets other than a tool kit and possibly a van isn’t really comparable to owning a pharmacy. There is no record of a business owned by Starmer’s father on Companies House and trying to compare him to Sunak’s parents is just silly. You do realise that sole traders can work in factories and many do. Many sole traders earn significantly less than employed workers and there’s no evidence of any affluence in Starmer’s upbringing.
