Fixtures Calendar - 2025/26

Sunderland have spent quite a lot this summer. They will have a lot of their player missing for ACON in Dec/Jan time.

We play them away on 30th Dec so they should have a pretty depleted team.

You’d expect us to win anyway but these days I’m not so sure so any little positive is a bonus I suppose.

Good luck with TPE not letting you down.
Luckily I'm off that weekend so it is the Blackpool supporters bus for me.
You can pretty well guarantee that at least one of the TPE trains from Edinburgh to Manchester will be cancelled.

I gave up on the West Coast for a while the season before last and travelled via York. That is prohibitively expensive unless you split the fares for the journey. We usually would book to Leeds and then pay the excess on arrival at Victoria which was much cheaper than a through booking.

If you take the stopper train from Leeds to Manchester Victoria- the on that goes through Hebden, Sowerby Bridge etc it normally costs around £12 return but takes around 90 minutes. The one hour direct train from Leeds to Manchester via Huddersfield costs around £25-28 return.

For those travelling up on the the train from the South, Saturday 23rd is the first day of trains travelling through Stockport for a while after the line is closed most of August... let's hope the Engineering Works are sorted for the Saturday Morning and not over running as the 12.30 start is such a tight squeeze.... hmmmmm

thought it was still closed that weekend>

Whatever you want to say about how shit things are in the States, nothing is more fucked up than Sky’s TV date change releases. A week late now after promising them on July 9.
I’d take those dates with a pinch of salt. They are provisional only and more often than not the announcements are made a week or 2 later.

Absolutely boils my piss how fast and loose they play with the announcement dates. I bet the September announcement delay is because Sky want to show City v Utd at 5.30 on the Sat and GMP are insisting on lunchtime, which is the TNT slot (can’t be Sunday in case we play on the following Tuesday in the CL, which won’t be known until the end of August), and either TNT or Sky won’t play nicely and swap slots.

Sky can have 12.30 Saturday if they want they get first pick tnt would just get an early or late Sunday slot. I'm almost certain that sky will pick the derby for 4.30 Sunday with an x next to it for the potential for it to be moved to a 5.30 Saturday k.o

But the point is that it shouldn’t move to Sunday just in case we play Tuesday and that won’t be known until late August. The bullshit that the PL came out with about fans should be aware of late changes is another slap in the face. Don’t fucking move them in the first place if there is a chance they may have to move. Either play at 12.30 on Saturday or 3.00 and don’t show it live. They can show Fulham v Leeds on Sunday and Palace v Sunderland or Newcastle v Wolves.

6 teams in the CL this season though so unless they agree with UEFA now what is happening re. That first week of CL i cannot see how they can confirm the games. Either they agree with UEFA and pick the PL games so they don't move. Pick the PL games and say they could move which is actually pointless for 6 games on the weekend of 13th Sept or do nothing which they are doing at the moment. Completelt messed up

UEFA have no interest in juggling their format/fixtures their competition takes preference over all the Leagues as far as they are concerned . I expect the fixtures to be released with loads of * next to them

Listen, I feel for the traveling fans who have to try to plan around this stuff every single month. Even for me, 5500 miles away — whenever I come out, it’s maddening having to wait to plan the travel (and expensive).

Very well apart from the fact that in the season in question the line via Huddersfield was closed on weekends for engineering works, at least every time we were looking to travel, so there was no option but to go via Hendon Bridge.
