Fixtures Calendar - 2025/26

Yeah, I saw that on Mag's excellent calendar. But go on the club's app, and the sept fixtures are "to be confirmed". I've got a ticket for the Burnley game, but I can't do anything re flights and accommodation yet. And if the game is shifted to the Monday night, that rules me out.

It’s a Champions League week so Burnley won’t be moved to Monday.

Even if they announce a provisional TV date, I don’t see how they can confirm it until after the Champions League draw on the 28th August.
Move games for teams not in Europe or in Thursday Leagues to Sundays and leave CL teams on Saturdays. That could apply to September and the first weekend of October. Then the CL fixture dates will be known in time for them to schedule games after the international break about six weeks in advance.
The UEFA play-off games in Feb 2026 might create a further issue with short-term planning for March.

Sorry, I meant to say that they couldn’t confirm it, on the assumption that their favoured day is Sunday. Which it probably is.

I wonder if the delay is them proposing the derby at 530 on the Saturday due to a potential CL game on the Tuesday and GMP pushing back.

16:30 Sunday for both the Derby and Arsenal away.

Burnley stays as 3pm Saturday

The City website has removed the message that the fixture is TBC so the PL have probably had confirmation that UEFA will work around it when we know the CL draw.
The PL usually mention subject to change due to European fixtures when announcing fixtures so safe to assume this is the case.

City and Liverpool are both playing on Sunday 14th September so it is fair to think the Premier League and UEFA have said both will be in CL action on either Wednesday 17th Sept or Thursday 18th Sept now. Tuesday can be for Chelsea, Newcastle Arsenal or Spurs in CL

Still hilarious that a team who finished 17th in their domestic league is playing in the following season's CL, while "The World's Greatest Club"™, who finished two places above them, are limited to stag trips to Dublin for their European adventures.

I've just noticed that the Liverpool game against Everton, scheduled for 12.30 on a Saturday, has a proviso that if Liverpool are away on the previous Wednesday, it will be moved to 12.00 Sunday.

Pretty sure that's not happened before and it's something that Guardiola and especially Klopp have moaned about previously.

It's a small concession compared to the efforts some leagues go to in helping their teams in Europe. But it's something I suppose. Having said that, 12.00 on a Sunday really is a shite as it comes.

It’s something that’s been in place for a couple of years now. A team that plays away in Europe on Wednesday night won’t play at lunchtime on Saturday. The only time (I think) we’ve been affected was two seasons ago when our home game against Newcastle on TNT was moved to Saturday evening after we’d played in the Super Cup on Wednesday night.
I’m guessing the Merseyside derby has that provisional alternative kickoff time for police reasons.

Ok, thanks for that. Was totally unaware it was already a thing. Probably because it hasn't really affected us, as you say.

That Newcastle Saturday night game was great. I'd definitely be up for more of that. Especially early season on a nice summers day, like that one was.
