Flop of the season | The Guardian - Dzeko rates high

I'm starting to feel really sorry for this poor guy who has taken a lot of abuse since he signed yet he always seems to remain happy, sporting a big smile most times I see him. Plus, he seems to really want to be here and was dancing around the pitch at Wembley afterwards despite his disappointment at not being picked.
I'm sure he will come good next season.

Reminds me of Marsh in the way that both were proclaimed as signings that would clinch the league title. If only someone had said "We're signing Marsh/Dzeko for the long term"

And he has scored some very important goals.

Dzeko's scored some crucial goals for us, and a few that have showed his instincts.. he'll prove how good he is next season. Plus, you can see how much he wants it, that's half the battle.. it's not like he's mooching round the pitch thinking about his pay check..

yeah he does seem to be enjoying himself and putting the effort in. loved the way he came onto the pitch when we scored in the final when he could have taken a bit of a hump and not really feel involved being on the bench

I'd imagine they are basing their opinions on his time in England, so those stats won't mean anything to them. Still tossers though!

I was impressed on his league debut, he fought well, did an assist I remember and won more punt ups than our previous 3 forward signings in one match! Not always about goals in a game but he gives us those too!

It is what they said about Drogba in his first season, couldn't hit a barn door and were taking the piss over his fee. Just hope the lad can prove them all wrong, on a positive note last couple of times I have seen him he seems to have upped his game and scored a couple of goals so with a good pre season I am certainly willing to give him the benefit of next season to see how he goes.
