Mamardashvili is the real deal. I thought he might be a classic La Liga keeper when they bought him, good with his feet but not physical or dominating in the air - but he was excellent for Georgia in the Euros against some really good teams.
We’re very close to the current Liverpool. I fear that Liverpool with Frimpong and Wirtz are a long way above us right now, but a lot of the improvement should come from within the squad. We’ve got loads of young players who should be kicking on, new signings who should make a step up in the second season.
Foden returning to form will change a lot. I’d almost be making that my number 1 priority this summer if I was pep.

Let's look at PSG and how they turned it around by getting the right players and not just buy big names/superstars
If City get the correct players to make the system work it doesn't matter one bit who Liverpool sign
... average players from mid table teams it is!
I think I am correct in saying that not one, single signing has been confirmed for any, single club.
I'll be holding my gills closed before I start the flapping of the ages.
Whilst I agree it’s a huge advantage for them and gives them the player they’ve been lacking since they sold peak coutinho I think it depends what we do in other areas and how we behave in the market from now.
For example if we used some extra cash we had for wirtz to ensure we got first choice full back targets and we look like this:

Livramento Dias/Akanji Gvardiol Kerkez
Rodri Rejners MGW
Foden Haaland Marmoush
That side with Bobb, Doku, Savinho rotating dependent on form / fitness and maybe 1 or 2 uncs on the bench with couple defenders would be good enough to challenge for the league. We don’t have to be as good as we were before, we only have to be better than this Liverpool and arsenal side. Slots liverpool not been close to peak Klopps as yet.
Depends what happens with the fullbacks, get those 2 who are prem proven that can make us solid defensively and also give us genuine width , overlapping runs and ability to create chances and I feel we challenge even if the scouse midfield 3 are stronger.
Fwiw Kerkez probably nailed on for scousers, but if we want to act serious go give Bournemouth 10m more than the scousers will and if you can convince the player then the left full back position be sorted for the next decade.

Forget Frimpong mate, he doesn’t strengthen them. He’s compensation for the loss of Trent but don’t underestimate how important Trent has been for the scousers last 5/6 years he’s been their most creative player. Frimpong in for Trent on its own is a downgrade.
Trouble with us is we are too smart for our own good and we always seem to bottle the big signings now unlike years ago when we blasted everyone out of the water . We were the best team in the world and destroyed Bayern and real trek years ago and now we celebrate beating fucking Bournemouth like we’ve won a cup . Be a real sickener if he goes there. These are the kind of signings we need to make if we want to get back to the top. The likes of Gibbs White isn't going to cut it.
theres a long way to go on this. 2 weeks ago we were firm favourites and half of this is twitter journalists pumping for clicks. even the actual reports say no fee agreed between the clubs - which youd think would be a pretty big problem

Wirtz has the same amount of assists as Jacob Murphy this season. 1 more than Elanga and Morgan Rogers.
He's a very good player, but if we're looking for a KDB replacement we're never going to find one.

Wirtz, Kerkez and Frimpong is the best transfer window that any PL title winner has ever done. That’s what you call investing when you’re on top, not resting on your laurels. We decided to completely stand still and eroded the squad over time. They have every chance of 3 or 4 in a row themselves from this one window alone.
On paper 100% but wait to see who gets who and then where we all finish end of next season! We could Well have the 3rd best team squad next season
If a rare world class player is available we should be in for him. We’ve spent stupid money on gambles on average players.
Long term we are far better off spending big when a top player is available. If Liverpool can afford him I don’t see why we can’t.
We’re playing catch up. We’ve got a budget and can’t spunk the majority of it on an area of the squad that is at least third on the priority list.
