We will see, though if he goes to Liverpool he will soon be called that, regardless. He will go alongside the best front-three, the best keeper, the best centreback and the best full-backs, Lad. Obviously, Terrence, is now a rat and no longer the best full-back in the world, Lad.

thats a big call tbf, i think he has good press and one fantastic season but to call him the best number 10 in the world is a stretch and id say that if he signed for city as well

He has been doing it since he was 17. it’s not 1 season. He has always been dominant. Not just looking at his stats but how he was playing.
The Havertz comparisons are a joke since Wirtz was always considered the much more talented one. He had an ACL and still got even better. 2 times Bundesliga player of the year in a row despite players like Musiala.
There is no better 10 in world football. That’s not a stretch it’s a fact unless you can name someone we’ve never heard of.
If Wirtz was Brazilian or English or played for Barcelona - they would call for 200M+
Especially in a dead position with lack of quality players

yeah i can name you one, we've just let him go to napoli, price is irrelevant i just think to call someone the best 10 in world football is a stretch i really do, you have your opinion and thats fine but i think he has plenty more to do to be called the best in the world

He is not the best #10. Certainly the most hyped, but he doesn’t have the passing ability of Kev and neither the stats to back up a statement like that.

And why do we compare him to KDB when KDB is out of the picture? No one will call KDB the best #10 anymore.

How is it a stretch if there‘s no one better in the last 2 years? The only one you could name in the last 2 years due to creation stats and amount of minutes would be that rat guy from
United. In the present he is the best and that’s why he is that expensive. It’s a dead position. There ain’t many options. KDB isn’t the best anymore it’s not start of 23 and under.
It’s weird that people can’t name someone better but yet refuse to mention that he is the best at his position. He doesn’t need to do more because he already is.
The same when Neymar was already the best pure winger in the world with 21 or whatever and people still said he had to do more despite him beating those other „
Best wingers“ in every stat.

Not even Messi or Brazilian Ronaldo has the same stats at 17. don’t know why Wirtz is getting compared to him now. I am taking about the current best #10 and not the best 17 yr old of all time

We're led to believe that City made a strategic decision to pull out of the Wirtz deal due to the expense and difficulty when City need to bring in 3-4 players. This looks like a good decision at the moment. If we were going head to head with Liverpool, that deal might go > £120m, it would last the Summer, and we would have no guarantee of winning it. We might enter a new season without an attacking midfielder. I prefer the idea of pursuing a small group of highly talented players which at the moment look like they are attainable.

I think you make a really good point.
If we delayed in the singular pursuit of Wirtz, we would be entering another (alleged) Rice/Bellingham scenario of back and forth for players who may or may not have the intention to join the club. I like the idea of having a couple of options of highly-skilled players able to fill the role we want filling rather than us wanting one player above all others and failing to deliver it.
 
Wirtz Is the leading no. 10 but I would say there is a poverty of such players. Who is the leading no. 10 in the Premier League? Odegaard? The leading rival in Europe is probably Dani Olmo but probably more for his performances in a dominant Spain side than for Barcelona where he can be ineffective. I don't think I even noticed Wirtz this season in the Champions League. The leading offensive players were dribblers.

Weird behavior. Wirtz has always been good my guy. The hype just reached everywhere else years later since he didn’t start at an absolute top club. If someone is willing to pay 150 for Musiala you can also pay 150 for Wirtz who is considered Germany’s best player including the same Musiala people here would cry for .

On his day KDB will still be the best 10, just that his days are more spread than they were.
