Florian Wirtz

Genius whoever he is. Signing a Bundesliga player would only be possible if he decided to leave the Bundesliga. Unless of course we’re planning to up sticks.
this is actually absolute peak journalism in a nutshell, this guy said fuck all and made it a fucking news. this is a dream job

Just listening to Sam Lee on the Athletic podcast that came out 7 pm yesterday he says that after talking to his contacts again yesterday it’s got to the point where he would be surprised if Wirtz did not go to City.

Nothing Is decided and everyone has a different take.
So the real question here is: how reliable is he?

I still think this is happening. As for a second choice, Xavi Simons please.

### Conclusion
- Xavi Simons edges out in raw output (0.65 G+A per 90 vs. Wirtz’s ~0.50) and versatility, with superior dribbling, foul-drawing, and defensive work rate. His 9 goals and high xG/xA percentiles make him a standout in a less dominant team.
- Florian Wirtz remains a creative maestro, with comparable assists and a proven track record (2023/24 Player of the Season). His slightly lower stats may reflect Leverkusen’s system or tighter marking, but his game-changing ability is undeniable.
- Who’s Better? Depends on the system. For a team needing a versatile, high-energy playmaker who can dribble and press, Simons is ideal. For a side wanting a pure No. 10 to dictate play, Wirtz is the better fit. Simons offers better value, but Wirtz’s ceiling may be higher.

If you want a deeper dive into specific metrics (e.g., heatmaps, xG breakdowns) or comparisons from past seasons, let me know! I can also check for more recent stats if needed.

He’s not the only one. Plenty of people feel Wirtz wants City. Think we’ll know by first week of a June.

If we go by all the talk.

- His family wants Bayern move
- Writz wants to play outside the Bundesliga

So it seems it's a tug of War between him and his family. I feel he does want Bayern, but moving from Leverkusen to Bayern would probably impact his relationship with the fans which he doesn't want. A move abroad and back to Bayern might be a better choice to soften the blow that's if he doesn't enjoy the team he's on.

the bayern links and muller ending his career soon doesnt bode well but i hope we can get it over the line. im tired of seeing bayern snatching the best bundesliga players left and right

Just my personal take, but why wouldn't he be telling all of the teams courting him that he wants to go there and not the others? At this point he's trying to find out who really wants him and mostly whos going to offer him the best deal, you don't do that by limiting yourself to one club, it's much easier to get the deal you want from one club if you can go to them with an offer from another one.

If you read the comments in the Bayern Forum, they are sure that Wirtz will go there, but very arrogant (best offensive in the world with Kane, Musiala, Wirtz, Olise, good chances of winning the CL, etc). It would be a satisfaction if he does end up moving to City.
