He has 2 years left.

I think he will sign a new deal with Leverkusen, but with a €100m buyout for Bayern.

That way Leverkusen get one more year out of him and he gets his move to Bayern.

Falk is basically saying both Wirtz and Bayern are happy to wait if need be.

Xavi Simmons is not better than Foden or even on the same level, he doesn’t have a higher ceiling in terms of creativity or pure numbers

Ahh the famous Sane Boateng situation.

Honestly move on and find someone else if this is the case.
I would like to think Alfie did push Erling towards us or atleast prioritise us against others and this looks like a similar case.

Even if he decides to come after 15 calls from Pep, I would hate to see the same rumours coming in 2 years time.

Can’t see that being the case, too many issues this season that would be repeated even with Rodri and Bobb returning.

MGW isn’t fixing those on his own and that also supposes that Bernardo and Kovacic both stay.

If Wirtz is off the table it gives us a fairly sizeable pot to spent and with headroom on wages.

Last summer no one expected Pep to stay and no doubt Txiki knew he was hanging up his jumper so it made sense to keep things more or less as they were. Obviously injuries ensured that strategy was a disaster.

This summer Viana starts his role, the last thing he wants is to be facing another midfield rebuild summer of 2026 especially with Pep yet again with one year remaining on his contract.

And no Romano won’t be getting scoops from either Bayern or Bayer

Never really felt like Wirtz was going to happen to me so you’d hope they have someone else lined up.

I am not going to assume that just yet. Bild already ran a story earlier in the week asserting that Wirtz told Alonso that he only wanted Bayern which Alonso himself said wasn't true. As I said I will wait for better sources.

Apparently doesn’t want to leave Spain.

If Wirtz is off to Bayern at least we know early. There’s plenty of time to pivot. It’s not like our major transfer target has got into trouble over betting a few days before the window closes!
