He has 2 years left I think. It would reduce the fee though most likely.
 
Now all of a sudden they’re in negotiations with Leverkusen too—right after the info broke that we agreed on a fee.

Yeah, not buying that for a second.

That is the sensible, routine take that will inevitably happen. Wirtz just needs to refuse to sign extensions. Leverkusen's bravado won't last long, I reckon.

I don’t often venture into the transfer forum for precisely this reason. Nobody knows anything about anything. A few loons pretend they’re in the know and some even have large followings on Twitter but they all know nothing.

It’s all just a bit of fun I suppose
 
Can anyone see Bayern forking out €150 million?
Their M.O. is tap up in summer ask the player to run their contract down so we get you on a free and we can bump up your signing on fee, bit like Madrid have done with TTA.

Not sure that Leverkusen can really hold out for 150 as they could end up with nothing. He could leave on a free next summer.
 
Sounds like the club and agent are just trying to squeeze us for more rough.

Unless of course he just wants to stay in Germany and play for Bayern.
 
What is curious is the full court press in the media from bayern, if this is as wrapped up as they say and wirtz has said he only wants bayern etc etc, there would be no need for these stories which have been clearly leaked by them.
 
Someone rightly pointed out this is Kane saga all over again - and we are the Bayern in this scenario and Bayern are City.
Leverkusen hate Bayern - would sell Wirtz to Armenian league rather than going to the German champions
Wirtz as per news don't mind going to City maybe even inclined but his parents are all set for Bayern.

But the kicker in this case is unlike Kane Wirtz did not sign that lucrative contract that Leverkusen have prepared for him so his destiny remains in his own hands and without any information whatsoever I can conclude Wirtz manager and parents are not Charlie Kane ( They aren't mumbling idiots, are they!)

So a whole lot complicated that MGW and Reijnders. If I were City I would conclude deals with MGW and Reijnders as soon as possible and then wait for Wirtz to decide what he wants. Try for a month - If yes great if No - go for a goal scoring winger sign some fullbacks and call it a day.

Their getting help from adidas. Apparently adidas will pay like 40M .

Correct, so he can't sign a pre-contract with Bayern until January 2027. He could hold out for another year, but Leverkusen would still insist on a substantial fee. It's Bayern's tame media who are making all the noise, as always happens with Madrid and Barcelona.

Why would you not buy it? It's literally their logical next step, particularly if Wirtz has agreed terms with them.
