Who makes the effort to travel to another country but then not go to the facility of the club(s) that they're talking to? Do they not have Teams in Germany?

Probably a dance so that he can keep Bayer sweet and say he explored options but ultimately wanted Bayern

The David Silva transfer always reminds me of when @ono went undercover on rag cafe as canary_10 and convinced a load of them he was joining the rags instead of us.

Kaveh on Sky now saying no meeting with Liverpool, others saying nothing with us either.

Is there a slim chance his family just wanted to see Blackpool?
 
The media are clearly being briefed by clubs and/or agents to perhaps try and generate a bidding war. I personally think this deal is done, I think it's been done for a while and it wouldn't surprise me if it was announced very, very soon.

Everything about it makes sense. We don't normally announce key players leaving with so long left to go in the season, especially when we haven't qualified for the Champions League. Releasing De Bruyne frees up almost exactly the wages that Wirtz is supposedly commanding. He plays in the same position as De Bruyne and therefore is going to be virtually guaranteed being in the starting 11 without any real competition.

It's also the triggering of Gundogan's second year of his contract, the only German in the squad (after Ortega leaves in the summer).

I could be massively wrong but I just can't see Liverpool (or anyone else) paying the fee and his wages, especially after Liverpool have just tied down Van Dijk and Salah.

We could have managed his game time so it didn't automatically trigger the extension. Coincidentally, it was triggered after we announced De Bruyne was leaving.

It's not often we allegedly pursue a player like this for this long and then lose out. Bellingham was never, ever coming to us, he always wanted Madrid
