I think Bayern are over a barrel. They will have have to pay over the odds for him this year due to our interest in him. Can they afford to pay what we are offering? No chance Bayer will let him leave for less than what we are prepared to pay.
I don't think Bayern can afford to wait for him to run down his contract. If he is prepared to see out his contract, I reckon Madrid will swoop. He can sign a pre contract agreement in January, pocket a shedload of money and get to play under Alonso.

Wirtz literally met with Liverpool. He is obviously trying to force Bayern's hand this season as he has in real interest in signing for Liverpool.

Wirtz either goes to Bayern this season or next season as Leverkusen would then run the risk of losing him for nothing if he doesn't get sold next season.

Too much evidence he wants to move to Bayern & remain in Germany. You guys are running up the steepest hill trying o pull this off.

I think if it was Simons then it would be a quick deal for €80m? Cheaper than Wirtz and we have a good relationship with Leipzig? Maybe Mcatee to them as well?
