As much as we all love City not everyone in the world shares that view.
At present were a club in decline
No trophies this season
No guarantees of champs league football yet.
Football we currently play wont have top players rushing to join.

The club will turn it around, maybe next season, maybe the season after but we have no right to any player and right now we need to accept were not the top draw for the top players.

We Will get some Of our targets but it's time for a reality check from some fans to realise we're currently not what a lot of players want.
 
Baena and Cherki then.., needs creative top class, Olmo is fools gold, is never leaving now that he finally got there, +he's injured all the time still this season, was amazing over the winter though, not as much lately. Simons is not what everybody think he is, should have stayed at Barca if he wanted to fulfill his talent, is not a player to depend on for creative outlet, put him in an up and down team he´ll do well though, much like MGW, Simons suits the Bundesliga, Wirtz played in a continental team of sorts.

There was never a chance of him not joining Bayern, as most German players want to do .... they are their country's most successful side.

He will also remember, or been reminded by whoever, that the German national team managers don't appear to be all that keen on travelling to watch their players who play abroad ... as Leroy Sane found out!

And as City have now appear to have pulled out , no doubt Levekusen will feel that Bayern now have them 'over a barrel' as regards Wirtz, ezpecially as they appear to be his favoured choice, and the players price will probably drop!

We need quality and some of the names we’re being linked with is rather underwhelming.
The squads on its arse and we need top class players.
If we start penny pinching we’re in for another rough season.
 
Leverkusen were happy with us being involved to either mug us off or get higher price out of Bayern even. all this talk of we have great relationship with Leverkusen. well pay us 45m for McAtee then we have a good relationship, from the Wirtz income...

Acting like it’s leverkusen‘s fault that Wirtz wants to join Munich. They can’t do shit about that.

He’s not the only fucking one. Buying make-weights like MGW at allegedly £100,000,000 in place of the best midfielder in German football if not the best midfielder in world football for £150,000,000.
If either Liverpool or Bayern get him this will be our first major loss of next season.
 
Don't think we've actually backed down for cash reasons, City clearly just briefing something to make us look like we've made the big decision.

We would obviously have been aware of how much it was all going to cost and we met with Wirtz and his family literally last week. Wirtz has chosen Bayern like his dad wanted and we've had to come up with a line for the press.

Madrid did the same when Haaland chose us. They met with him knowing how much it was gonna cost, but Alfie wanted City for his son so Madrid briefed that they didn't think the deal was worth it financially.

We'll get Gibbs-White, Reijnders, and probably one more (Simons?), and we'll be fine.

I reckon Wirtz ends up signing a new deal at Leverkusen but has a Bayern clause of £80m-£100m for next year.

No chance Bayern pays £130m this summer, they will wait.

In my opinion.
