I find it hard to believe that if he was so set on Bayern they’d entertain coming to city to look around etc.

It will be interesting to see what’s happened when it all eventually comes out.

Personally I reckon (like Sane moving from here to Bayern) he’s been massively pressured behind the scenes into Munich as they are probably pissed off with how the last week has gone so openly. They like
Madrid are so dirty behind the scenes.

But also makes sense for him to stay in Germany and Bayern are a huge club with a lot of history. I wish him all the best if he goes there.

I actually don’t think this is the last we will hear of it all. It’s been somewhat messy and never a straight forward answer. Even if that means he stays at Leverkusen this year and tries to wind his contract down as they won’t deal with Munich. It just all feels very odd.
 
Go back and get palmer after the chavs miss out on champions league. Cost 100 but did sell for 40 I think so no more than any other player to buy this summer.

Think the Wirtz camp played a blinder. Pretended to throw a hissy fit by visiting Manchester all the while nudging Munich to find a deal.

Don’t get me wrong I’m gutted we aren’t getting him, he’s probably the best young attacking midfielder out there at the minute but this isn’t the end of the world like some are making out.

Honestly believe Phil is as good as him if he gets his head right over the summer and regains last seasons form.

Get 2 dynamic 8’s in who can actually run and I’m more than happy. I know people turn their noses up at him but if we get Gibbs White and add Reijnders also id say that’s great business. Hopefully Bobb stays fit, Echeverri breaks through and Savinho/Doku go up a level too.

Add 2 competent full backs on top of Rodri coming back and next season won’t be anywhere near the shit show this has been, I’m pretty confident about that.

He’s a brilliant player but people have bigged up Wirtz like he’d be some sort of one man saviour for us. Hes a big talent but not the be all and end all

Liverpool could sign him if they wanted. They make a lot of money, spent nothing last summer and have plenty of room for PSR.

Someone said on here earlier that it could be a case of City knowing he is going to Liverpool and City have come out with the too expensive PR to put the money issue on Liverpool.

Bayern aint paying more than £100m

Who knows what the conversation was like when he came to City. Pep wasn't there by all accounts which probably isnt' ideal but if Viana sat him in a room and said we are going to use you as a centre midfielder and thats what Pep wants he might have thought fuck that, I want to be a number 10.

City clearly had any financial information outlined before he or his family stepped foot on the plane so that isn't an issue. Maybe he didn't like the weather, fuck knows.

Buy MGW and Rudolph and 2 x fb job done.

Phase the older players out and start to introduce more academy.

Proper reset and if anyone world class comes up the go for it.

Barca had to do it not so long ago.

Pep needs new fresh faces.

At lunch time today there were noises that this was happening, then shortly after it's all off. We never even got chance to track planes!

I never wanted him anyway! (I did really). Never mind. Onwards and upwards!
