Florian Wirtz

We're not "letting" someone go elsewhere if fundamentally they don't want to join us.

Whilst I can't even begin to imagine why someone would rather play for Liverpool than City, the players (and their agents) will have different agendas to you & I.

If the reports are true about what salary he wanted are true then it's a good thing we didn't bite, some people seem to be more invested in the idea that the club is showing them up by not giving players a sly wink and a reacharound to seal any deal we may or may not have.

Wirtz wins them the league next season. Wirtz and Salah yeah no signing we make will take us to winners.

That’s the title winning signing done for them. They’ve just got considerably stronger, while we’ve got weaker with Kev going. Reijnders will help. But Wirtz is an excellent signing for them.
They haven't even signed him yet. Sacha said on Monday he was going to Bayern now he is claiming Liverpool.

Ornstein is saying Liverpool and Leverkusen haven't agreed on a fee.

Might be some more twists and turns

What did you think he was gonna cost? People want the best talents in the world to come to city but at a cut price. We’ve leaned for cut price players recently and they’ve been shite.

Not £200m over 5 years.

Haaland at £50m and say £400k a week is £150m over the same time period.

The club have more needs and won't put other positions and transfers at risk for 1 player.

3rd most expensive signing of all time behind Neymar and Mbappe is ridiculous.

The concerning thing is...why would he have a preference to Liverpool?

We (obviously, not whinging) don't have the same pull as we have done in recent years and why is that? It can't be because they've just won the league and we haven't because one off season in the last 7/8 years is fine.

It must boil down to style of play. In my opinion anyway. An attacking player like Wirtz wants space and freedom to be able to play. Liverpool allow that and they play fast, attacking football. We, on the other hand, play slow, side-to-side football. Which has worked a treat for years and seen massive success, but seems to be a bit archaic (boring) now.

If I was Wirtz, and I had the choice between the two, I know which I'd favour if it came purely down to style.

What annoys me is that teams seem to come onto Liverpool making it an expansive game. But teams against us just sit back. It can't be just down to them, they must do something different which makes teams more open. We don't.
We can only speculate but at this stage we've seen nothing to say he prefers Liverpool because of style of play.

It could be that he asked for 350k a week, we said no, Liverpool said yes.

It could be that Alonso has been in his ear about Liverpool as a club and pushed him in that direction. You've got to imagine that Alonso/Wirtz have a very good relationship.

He could have friends that already play at Liverpool and he wants to join them.

There could be players at City he's encountered before and doesn't want to work with.

He might be concerned about City when Pep leaves in a year or two.

All speculation, of course. But we don't know the reasons so there's little point using this as a reason to roll out the "City are boring" mantra.

Why is it so hard to imagine that a player can choose the Dips over us? They are the premier league champions and we still haven’t secured a spot in the CL. Also there is the added uncertainty of the charges. Delusional.

Rice middle finger and signs for Arse, Wirtz middle finger signs for dippers.

bad fucking situation imo.

Arse already sorted out Zubimendi and talking to Gyokeres and Rodrygo too while dippers looking at Kerkez too.

You're an idiot.
