Florian Wirtz

Prob won’t go down well here but if most players (with no affiliation to either club) had a choice between Liverpool and city right now then most would choose Liverpool.

They are a bigger club than us and they are champions with a very good squad. It’s fine to admit that.

It wasnt financial why we couldn’t get this done the player simply didn’t want to join
Injuries or not, the football speaks for itself.

Wouldnt wish some of this seasons viewing on my worst enemy.

Exactly. Put your City bias aside and Liverpool are a more attractive proposition than us currently unfortunately. I know we have Pep, won 4 in a row etc, but Football’s all about the future not the past.

If I knew nothing and watched both clubs these last 18 months I know which I’d rather join, and it isn’t the one that plays slow, side to side boring football and is fighting for top 5.

God I hope we get this summer right and Pep gets us clicking again

As much as it hurts admitting it. you are spot on

Van Dijk and Salah will be 33 and 34 respectively, in a few weeks. They will fall off a cliff. They also have new contracts on ridiculously high wages. Added to Wirtz being on stupid money, they will have no room to maneuver. They're not dominating anything.

Wirtz, Kerkez and Frimpong is the best transfer window that any PL title winner has ever done. That’s what you call investing when you’re on top, not resting on your laurels. We decided to completely stand still and eroded the squad over time. They have every chance of 3 or 4 in a row themselves from this one window alone.

It shouldnt of been allowed to happen. We should of been most attractive club in england. If any players wants to play in england it should be us they dream of playing for. We were at the pinnacle after the treble and have gone backwards rapidly

They’re spending a similar amount on Frimpong to what we spaffed on a teenager from the French league who has to communicate through charades.

Cool. You know where Rawk is.
Behave mate don’t see your arse when you say something daft and get called on it 12 points clear with a game to play miles better GD. 15 clear of us. Biggest gap between first and 2nd in any of the top leagues I think. They romped it this year never under any pressure.

Are Liverpool paying the asking price ? 150 million euros plus wages.. Questions

Manchester City get hammered in the media about a transfer of this size with FFP and PSR
Liverpool are not a bigger club than Manchester City in terms of revenue and is in debt ?

Last Season, Klopp came out and said Liverpool doesn't buy mega-money signings like City because we just don't have the resources and putting the club in danger ?

Just goes to show how much the rest need to improve and by the looks of things Liverpool will have a better transfer window than the rest
Not the rest. Us.

By the looks of them losing one of their best attacking threats for free and signing nobody

Reading shit like this is downright scary and there’s no way you watch the same club play
We need both.

But if we can’t get both, what hole is easier to fill? It’s easier to identify high end players that are more athletic and quicker than our geriatric midfield. And we at least have potential for adding creativity in house — Marmoush, a return to form for Foden and Bobb, improvement from Sav and Doku. We don’t have in house speed and athleticism, at least not ready for the MF in the PL. It’s not perfect, but it’s a defensible plan.

And we’re not in a position where we can afford to whiff on Wirtz, or really even have him have a longer than expected transition to the PL. He’s probably not going to be KDB Jr in any event, and even if he is, we’re still weak at other positions, given that there are constraints on our spending.

All we can do is hope that Wirtz is Jorginho or Koulibaily and we can find our Rodri or Dias this summer.

Yep and it’s not the first time we have restrd on our laurels. Infuriatingly stupid. More interested in fleecing the fans and building hotels and arenas than building on a treble win.

Mad that you'd say VVD picked them over us, when there's video proof we didn't think he was worth the money.

Watch the Amazon doc from years ago
He'd literally agreed to go there in the summer then Southampton reported the scousers to the premier league for tapping him up as they wouldn't pay what they wanted. The scousers even issued a public apology. They then paid the 75m in the winter.
