I am fairly certain we didn't buy him to play fullback. I agree he has improved but hard to forget his fuck up against the rags. Nearly ruined Christmas that.I haven't got a problem with us not getting Wirtz, I have got a problem with our recruitment over the last few years ( similar to what happened with we won the league with Mancini and Pellegrini).
I'm also concerned we keep buying players who Pep publicly says are not good enough - Phillips and Nunes being the obvious ones and the way Gonzalez and Khusanov have been treated doesn't bode well.
I actually think Nunes is our most improved player this season and has settled in at fullback now he's got a consistent partner next to him but that doesn't explain why we bought him in the first place.

PSG look a lot better now they've abandoned the policy of signing the likes of Neymar, Mbappe and Messi. And Real Madrid signing Mbappe hasn't improved them. No coincidence PSG and Inter are CL finalists. For me, the future lies in signing the right cogs for the machine rather than the biggest available star.
