Florian Wirtz

Ermmmm the stats for Doku Grealish and Savinho were for the season - not since Xmas. All have a pathetic returns and the reason why we are still scratching for top 5.

Don’t disagree about KDB leaving - but MGW for big money is not for me.

As for Reis - massively overpaid for him - all the Brazilian journos said we had our pants pulled down. If you wanna say Reis has Brazil junior team caps then what our our English youth kids like Alleyne or Braithwaite etc worth. They have better representation for England teams through the age groups than Reis has for Brazil

Reis and Khusanov were panic buys. Pep at least had a look at Khusanov before freezing him out. Neither can get a sniff now of action during a period we had 3 centre half’s injured and literally no full backs. They ain’t gonna improve or developed when they can’t get in the squad. Why was Reis not playing for the EDS team every week.

As for Stones and Ake leaving - firstly - who do you think is picking up the £200k per week wages for the 10 games a season they are fit.

Well the Pixies must have been utter shite.

In our worst season for a decade, decimated by injury and illness, we are in third place. I seriously think you need to get a grip

It’s not a gaffe if you know he’s always been set on going fine where else.
It’s common sense.
A month ago he was set on Munich according to the world. No one knows. And I believe that if we pushed the boat out, we’d be able to sign him

Entitled to your opinion but I think if City really wanted him & they didn’t think he was set on going elsewhere- they WOULD have pushed the boat out.
We have plans & want players who are on board with our mantra.

Same as the situation with van dijk. And look at how that one played out

He ALWAYS only wanted Dipperpool - shy pursue a lost cause and without him, we only won 4 in a row; the treble; CL. Think what we might have won with VDV. OH,,,, just a minute, nothing left is there

pulling out of the chase for Wirtz could be just as big a gaffe as pulling out of the chase for van dijk

We have only pulled out in the sense we know it’s not a viable option.

He has been our number one target, a position we have a massive hole to fill.

I must live on another planet to you...seriously. Or you are on the wind-up.
And that squad of players there are the only set of players not to win a trophy in Guardiola's time here. It's not a coincidence is it?

Our squad used to be the envy of the league and but now there's more Liverpool players who get in our side than there is our players getting in theirs.

Letting De Bruyne go and freeing up 350k (minimum) in wages and not replacing him with someone we've allegedly been after for 2 years, in my opinion, is criminal.

Because significant injury blighted us. If you do not recognise its impact, then there is nothing for me to add. Criminal? Lord above.

We've always had that injury record barring Rodri. Stones, Ake, Akanji, De Bruyne etc have spent months of each out injured.

You think we're winning the league & Champions League again with a squad that contains Lewis, Reis, Kusonov, Nunes, Bobb, Echeverri, Doku, Savinho, a 34 year old Gundogan and no De Bruyne.

Lord above indeed

Hyperbole to the side for a minute, do you think our current first team is as good as our previous? For example do you think the starting 11 we now have, minus KDB, is as good as the starting 11 of the treble winners, centurions, Pellers title winning side and Mancini's?

I don't.

I actually think, as it currently stands and I appreciate we have time to change that in the summer, that this is the worse starting 11 we've had in a long time. Squad-wise it is very decent because we have almost like for like quality on the bench (except for Rodri) but that's the problem we have too many good players across the board and not enough world class players in our starting 11.

My spider senses are telling me that the bidding will truly begin tomorrow, after the shake-up is done for chumps league places.
This chap will want the top tournaments.
I can't say I'll be arsed if he goes elsewhere, but I just think it's a waiting game right now. And City are waiting and mulling.
No point rushing in to end up with buyers remorse.

didnt we have the fee agreed with Leverkusen in reports? no way we get in a bidding war now.

Every single player we bought last 2 summers got thousands of minutes this year. We have one of the best transfer records in the world in terms of success/failure.

My original opinion stands.
I didn't say last two summers, but playing time doesn't mean it was a good transfer, otherwise you'd have to say the likes of Maguire and Anthony were a success.

For us, would you regard Gomez, Phillips, Nunes, Kovacic, Doku, Savio as players who improved the first 11? A couple of them are decent back ups but shouldn't be regular starters.
