You have a general idea of the price you're expected to pay while you're spending months laying the groundwork, and some players are worth it. The Bayern chairman or something felt the need to lay down a big defence to defend Bayern's pull the other day. They were caught with their pants down. I guess that's why the money statement was made.

LB on Youtube was saying it as soon as the statement came out as well, it's pretty obvious. Some people swallow everything the club sells them though. It is quite funny to think some people believe the "I didn't like her anyway" stuff.

Maybe, just maybe, they wanted to try and squeeze a little bit more out of us and we didn't bite. Maybe, just maybe, they left with their tail between their legs. They went to Liverpool as well so not sure what your point is. Look... Every club gets rejected, it's not a big deal. Numerous factors come into a player's decision, many beyond our control. There's little chance any top club is pulling out of a deal for Wirtz if he says he'll join them (as long as they need a 10 lol). That falls to zero chance with a KDB sized hole to fill.

Agreed

Even so, we don't wanna see a top player like this kid join one of our rivals if the only reason for that is that we weren't prepared to pay what was needed

It's been going on too long this policy of tryna snag players on the cheap. Pep's genius has mitigated our transfer failings - the board should repay him by paying top dollar for world class talent, if they still can
