Florian Wirtz

A lot of people where gutted when Sancho went United, think he had 33 goal contributions whilst Wirtz has 22.

It is worth noting this week Chelsea paid £5 million as they did not want him.

It’s a lot of money, especially when you factor in the ACL.

You can also factor in kdb as well, came from bundesliga did well there but became world class for us. Wirtz is a 2 x bundesliga POTY and is still 21. Comparison with sancho is not accurate, plus, lets not pretend that we didn't want him, most of us were under the impression that he was ours already last year.

It could go fantastic or it could not , there is literally no way to tell but for him to be worth the money, they are at minimum going to have win the league multiple times, and do a few doubles etc as well, as that was the benchmark for grealish who cost us less than that and then on top of that in 1 or 2 years time, that striker and centreback position will need addressing at a cost of another 200m, he is a good player of that there is no doubt but they are paying all the money for him as well.

If not the desired number, Wirtz can at least look forward to a lucrative salary at Liverpool, which according to information from “Sport Bild” is between 20 and 22 million euros per year. This puts the German only just behind top earner Mo Salah (32) in the English champions' salary rankings, who is said to earn between 23 and 25 million euros including bonuses per season. According to the magazine, Wirtz could have received an even higher salary in Munich, but decided against it. With a reported €25 million salary per year, Jamal Musiala has reportedly been at the top of the wage hierarchy at Säbener Straße since his last contract extension, followed by Harry Kane (€24 million p.a.) and Joshua Kimmich, Manuel Neuer and Leroy Sané (estimated €20 million each). It is not unlikely that Wirtz would have been on a par with Musiala at the record champions.

We can also factor in that Kevin had far better numbers than Wirtz, and had a passing range that he is not matching. Wirtz is a great player but I can’t see how he is worth 150m, which in my opinion makes him a risky signing. Mind you we committed this mistake of overpaying with Grealish.

He wanted to sign for them, understandable for a few reason probably to himself, it isn't a big deal and it doesn't take away what a good player he is.

Happy with what we are doing so this really doesn't bother me and sets up a good title battle next year, which is what we want tbf not a boring proccession where the seasons done by easter.

The seasons where we have took it to the last weeks we have produced some scintilating football, where GD mattered, others teams being strong will ensure we need to win and score, that means more direct agressive attacking play, not this seasons dreary football we have witnessed this year.
Speak for yourself Ivlike a season that is wrapped up by the time the New Year is rung in. I hate those long drawn out affairs that go down to the very last kick. Not good for the heart. In a way I kinda enjoyed this year just enough excitement to keep one interested.

well all you Bluemooners can do a Wirtz watch tonight as he's starting against Portugal in the UEFA Nations League & see if he's worth the reported €150m.

Then compare his performance against Cherki who may play a part against the Spanish tomorrow evening.....chart & analysis nerds at the ready please!

He was alright. Far from convinced he is a £125m player but time will tell.

Agree...thought he was ok today given the circumstances. Without Musiala playing tonight, thought he was the Germans only creative threat, which the Portuguese knew & targeted.

Can't deny, he does possess quality & seems to have a work rate in him & already begun some battles with Bernie which I'm sure we'll see continue in the Premier League.

why is everyone so sure that Liverpool will pay what Leverkusen want for him ?

He is not worth that much Leverkusen is asking for way to much.

Will Liverpool pay 150m I am not so sure.
He could play for Leverkusen next season

It will get done. The player wants out, and ge wants to go there. Leverkusen will huff and puff and push for as much as they can, but ultimately when it starts to look leke he will either end up at Bayern or stay another season and go for less, possibly to Bayern, they will compromise.

Ironically, the player supposedly showing commitment that he only wants Liverpool is the very thing that has given Leverkusen a bit of leverage here.
