I applied for a catering job, went down for an interview a few weeks ago and have an induction next week. I've not had experience in catering before but they said that will be okay, I guess they will train us. The interviewer seemed impressed by all of my qualifications and stuff so I guess once they know you work hard and are committed to things they will train you. The induction is probably the chance for them to train people and see if we are good enough for the job.
The interviewer explained the problem last year was due to people letting them down, they didn't turn up to work and what happened was they had different people at different kiosks each week which didn't give them a chance to build up proper teams at each kiosk due to employees not turning up. They seemed to be very concerned in making sure that this will not happen this year.
I have seen a lot of criticism of the bars and kiosks on here though, yet from my experience they haven't been that bad, the worst was when my mate ordered two Singhas and got two ciders but other than that I never had many problems. I guess I'm just saying if I do get the job as a member of staff in one of the kiosks, other than being efficient and serving the right orders and the correct change at a good pace is there anything else you expect of the staff behind the kiosks?
