in the gutter, watching the stars.
I know a bloke who works for Betfair and studies betting patterns across the world. Back in November he told me of 2 Champions League matches that would almost certainly be draws.
Celtic v Rags (1-1) and Liverpool v Atletico Madrid (1-1) anyone remember that really dodgy penalty in the 90th minute?

Now I am not accusing any one in particular, but someone taking a bribe of a £million or 2 is certainly feasible when over a £billion is being gambled in South East Asia on one match. I hate to think that match-fixing is rife, but I wouldn't be too shocked if this can of worms is opened in the next season or two.

I doubt it but could be. If it is the case then we are the richest club in the world lets bribe our rivals to lose to city and we will become world champions!! Easy!

Have a look at this blog it's hilarious: http://footballisfixed.blogspot.com/

They've started blotting out some of the juicier stuff now but it's all written so seriously - and they aren't afraid to point the finger at the usual suspects (including an ex-goalkeeper of ours - but then they were also failry skeptical about the whole Thaksin/Sven thing, suggesting links with betting syndicates in the far east).

Hopefully it's mostly nonsense but...

Clubs won't be involved, if there is match-fixing, it will be be orchestrated by betting syndicates and mafia-type gangs.
They could easily afford the odd million pound bribe here and there. I would be more inclined to think that officials are the most likely people worth approaching. They earn far less than players and have far more influence on the outcomes of matches.

ALWAYS HAS BEEN ALWAYS WILL.. EVERTON ARE LIVING PROOF FOR IT.
You don't mean Everton 3 Wimbledon 2 do you? Everton 2 down at half time needing a win to stay up......... they get it back to 2-2 with a minute to go and Hans Segers dives over a tamely hit shot resulting in a win and 3 points for Everton.

You ever seen that video of when Bruce Grobbelaar threw the ball into his own net.
