Football league teams City have never played in our history

they weren't in our league that year (rovers were) - assume you're thinking of colchester (which was a 1 nil away win with a belter from the goat)
I was talking about Bristol Rovers

Seem to remember Colchester and Bristol Rovers away were both on pay per view.... but I've got the scores mixed up. It was 1-0 at Colchester with a Goat goal

I think we have played Exeter twice in non competitive matches
One was Steve Nevills testimonial in 1991 and I think we also played them on a pre season friendly (as citydad suggested) as part of the deal for Buster Phillips the first 10,000000 pound player.(Alan Balls words not mine).

It’s rare that I feel qualified to debate anything on here, but I feel suitably emboldened on the subject of Exeter City! Having grown up there and having made countless trips to St James Park, I spent my whole childhood dreaming of drawing (Manchester) City in one of the cups, so I could see Franny and Colin the King in the flesh, but it never happened. The closest we ever got was a pre-season friendly ahead of the 96/97 season…..
Yes, I was at that game too mate. We also played Plymouth on that preseason tour as well.

If people are too fucking thick to read properly then that’s their problem

We played Accrington in the FA Cup in 1937, as even a short look at the history section of this website shows

The information wasn’t poor at all. Just the brains of some of the people trying to read it

Corky likes calling other posters bullies, but doesn’t mind dishing it out himself.

An Exeter legend was Steve Neville. Dived for penalties more shamelessly than just about any player I’ve ever seen! Good little winger though

Went Exeter City when we played them in a pre season friendly early 90’s night match, was a top laugh.
That Bath Twerton Park v The Gas(Bristol Rovers) was also a hoot. Was the one when stadium announcer on a substitution called Garry Flitcroft Garry FLIPFLOP!!
End of season testimonial - your memory is going lol
Ended up drinking at a pub next to the cathedral after the game and the players coach pulled up and they all piled into the pub!

Before the Football League allowed automatic relegation / promotion into the 4th division, I had seen City at 90 of the 92 clubs (obviously i'd been to more grounds as new grounds were built) including friendlies.
By the end of our one season in 3rd Division, I was missing Hartlepool and Orient.
We played Orient last season (I wasn't there) but have we ever played Hartlepool?
