Football Leaks/Der Spiegel articles

The club should just start by telling der spiegel either they issue a full apology in their paper, and on line. If they don't do this we will be suing you for unlimited damages, and if does bankrupt the paper so be it. The club has to start to get hold of these pack of lies that are being bandy about. It will only stop once the club starts suing the papers that this vitriol against the club will stop.

With this being a German paper it is hard to ban them from press conferences, especially as our last game in the Champions League is against a German club. The only thing you can do is just not answer any of their questions. If one of the journalists asks a question you just don't answer it. By moving on to the next question.

From PSG.

Nasser Al Khelaifi (PSG President) on Football Leaks: "I honestly haven't looked at it. It is complete nonsense. I am concentrated on our project and our club."

After reading these 3 "articles" that are based on millions of emails sent over ten years, is it just me who thinks there's less dirt than was expected?

We failed FFP in 2014, everyone knew that already.

We tried to get muddle through with some creative accounting with image rights, we got caught out and failed anyway. We all knew that already too.

We were in discussions with Pep Guardiola and he agreed to come months before the end of his Bayern contract. Everyone already knew that.

So what's new that has come out in these articles? Where's the smoking gun?

The only thing that's even possibly new information is that there is an email saying that "His Highness" will give funds to Etihad if there is any shortfall in their sponsorship agreement with City.

The press seem to have run with "His Highness" being Sheikh Mansour, so it's an immoral way of inserting funds in to the club. But those who have worked in Abu Dhabi have said that SM would never be referred to a "His Highness" and that culturally, they are quite particular about that.

"His Highness" is more likely to be the Crown Prince. Now, if Etihad is a state airline, essentially owned by the Crown Prince, if they have financial obligations (such as sponsorships) that they are unable to meet, then surely it's fairly standard practice that their owner (Abu Dhabi / the Crown Prince) would inject funds to ensure those financial obligations can be met?

There really is no more dirt, no more substance than that. If a journalist was allowed unfiltered access to 10 years of emails at any company in the world, I'm sure they could find their fair share of dirt. They've found very little, if anything, on City that wasn't already in the public domain. It's actually fairly reassuring, if anything.

They’re not lies, they’re spicing up the truth and then making assumptions based on their speculation

That third chapter is absolutely laughable, nothing of any note outside of shock horror, we pay Pep really well and we play in Sky Blue.

I'm actually embarrassed for them. 80 journalists and the best they could come up with is this shit?

I don't think they've buried the lead, either. They've over-egged the entire week and tomorrow we will discover that the entirely legal practice of interrelated payments under the Group just isn't fair. Not that it's not done the world 'oer by any major corporation to charge for services and maximum tax efficiency.

I quite liked the snide dig at the British in general.

Nobody does self-righteousness quite like the Germans.

That and trying to solve 'problems'.

On the plus side.

This will only drive Sheikh Mansour and ADUG to continue running the club, winning more trophies, and investing in the stadium and the wider area.

Rather than bringing the club down, these article’s will make the club stronger and more determined.

Thank you, to all our haters.

Forgive my lack of knowledge, but who is this McGeehan bloke anyway? What purpose does he actually serve?
