Football Manager 2011

i need the patch too start a new game too, it usually comes out toward the end of february but they never announce a date, buy dede he is a beast at centre back

im doing one playing as afc telford, doing quite well its a good challenge but every game i get no less than 5 bookings i have had 8 booking in one game, not really bothering me, well untill i get a few sent off then it bugs me

is anybody else having any issue with mulitple bookings?

I stopped buying these games some years ago, think '07 was the last I bought... am I the only one who finds them almost too detailed now? I find it takes me hours to organize a single match sometimes unless I'm missing something? Maybe I should give it another go.

Yeahhh 07 was the best version, nice, simple and easy to play. I find the press conferences very annoying.

I havent really enjoyed a fm game since around 07 either, dont know why that is maybe just because im outgrowing them. Ive not bought 1 since 08 but i still get them by other means because its so easy to get them these days that theres no point paying £30 when i can get it without having to get off my arse. I dont really bother with the tactics tbh, i pick a formation based on the team ive got and then set the tactics and then penalty, free kick takers etc and then thats it. I very rarely change my formation during the season no matter who im playing because it doesnt really matter

Make your assistant do the press conferences. I liked them at first but they just get in the way and theres way to many.

I'm just going to wait for the update to come out and then make a new game.

Thinking of being Newcastle as they'll have a few quid to spend and they're squad isn't to great :-)

Especially when the player they sold is absoloute turd on the game. They should have at least £35m because Pardew has been told he can spend it all. Liverpool have been doing very well on my 2 games since i updated mine so i might give it a go with them. Looks like King Kenny isnt too shabby at fm

I have no transfer budget left , but i can spend on 1 or 2 more players with wages in the range 10000 p/w to 15000 per week by adjusting the wage budget a little bit. When i don't have any transfer budget, i usually spread out the payment over 48 months so as to enable me to buy good players.I am currently in the Championship division and have already spent about 7.1 million in the summer window.Due to successive promotions from the Blue Square South , i have a lot of useless players that i need to get rid of ( Squad contains 42 players). Players like Keith Andrews , Almunia etc have been obtained relatively cheaply because their agents offered them to me as their former clubs no longer needed them.I took them on 2 year contracts so that they might help in the promotion push.I am currently 4th in the Championship with 4 games in hand and 4 points of the top.

Edit: Also , the year is 2014 currently so many players in my first team squad are close to retirement.

Try loaning Kevin, a Spanish Midfielder. He'll be about 21 to 22 year old in your game and will definately do a decent job for you, also cos your in the championship try Regen's.

Go to the Transfer Centre and customise the person's age to at most 18 yrs old. Make sure they are interested in your club too.

Then click on the age button and scan through the youngsters in the game, any at the age of 16 that have a value over 1m is worth getting a scout report on, 17 yrs old your looking at over 1.2m and so on. You should be able to loan in some absolute gems by doing this, or you might even be able to pick a bargain Regen that will turn into a world star.

Hope that helps.

Thanks a lot Ricster . I am now in the Prem and half my team consists of these 16 , 17 year olds ( although i had to pay 45 million for one 17 year old striker :( ) + Marquinhos and the remaining half of my team consists of established prem players.

You know , for a club with only a 6000 capacity stadium ( currently undergoing expansion ) i got a very decent budget of max wages 720000 and transfer budget of 47 million.( Although i did say that i will win the prem this season because i knew that they wouldnt sack me even if i didnt)

Edit: I would also suggest anyone in the year 2014/2015 to sign Luis Rivas(if available) a 17 year old Goalkeeper who is turning out to be excellent. You can get him for around 10 mil.
