They were top after the first 2 games after beating Boro if you are doing the tables after just one game then the answer is Chelsea.George Hannah said:the answer is not Middlesborough actuallyxgorton said:The answer is Middlesbrough.
(or Everton which was suggested earlier)
Yep - after a Chris Balderstone winning penalty in the first match of 1974/5 Carlisle reached the top flight pinnacle (where they've never been before or since) - they beat our current favourite team - Chelsea. It was the same day as the swamp hosted its first game in the second division for 36 years.xgorton said:They were top after the first 2 games after beating Boro if you are doing the tables after just one game then the answer is Chelsea.George Hannah said:the answer is not Middlesborough actuallyxgorton said:The answer is Middlesbrough.

A PL or Champ team would need six to win it, and teams on the third and fourth shelves would need eight. Six is obviously too few and I don't think a team from the lower half of the league has won it so I'm guessing it's a non-league team that has come through the preliminary and qualifying rounds.George Hannah said:Which team has had the most FA Cup tie wins in a single season ?
