Football Trivia Question of the Day

plymouth?

Very, very close!

Plymouth Argyle have spent 40 seasons in the Second Flight without ever getting promoted.

The club I'm looking for has spent 41 seasons there.

None of the clubs mentioned.

Orient were in the Top Flight for a season and Bristol City had nine seasons in the Top Flight and actually finished runners-up in 1907.

The club in question is one of the very few in the Football League who aren't named after a town or city.

Right my second attempt is leading me to believe it's Port Vale?

And you would be absolutely correct!

Port Vale hold the record with 41 seasons up to 2010-11.

Plymouth Argyle have had 40 seasons in the second tier.
