Ironically, although Arsenal were one of the driving forces in establishing the Southern League, they never actually played in it themselves, preferring instead to 'defect' to the Football League.

Yes, Bobby Charlton's 38th minute goal proved to be the winner in a 3-1 friendly win for England at Wembley on 22nd May 1968. Martin Peters opened the scoring in the 36th minute and Roger Hunt added a third in the 73rd minute. Sweden's Rolf Andersson goal came in the 90th minute.

Pretty sure John Fashanu played for England circa '88 or '89. In fact I know he did. Played in the Rous Cup against Colombia or some one similar.

Yes, John Fashanu (2 caps v Chile & Scotland in 1989).
