Re: Media bias - football writers awards

Haha what a joke, fair enough Van Persie as he's bossing Arsenal this season. Sergios first year in English football though and a nomination for young POTY and he doesn't even get in.

Yaya has been 100000 times the player Scholes has been this season and he doesn't get a mention either. Absolutely ridiculous.

Without access to the star players enjoyed by the rags, arse, spuds and fulham this must make mancini a lock for manager of the year.

Re: Media bias - football writers awards

Scholes is laughable, what is it 13 games in total.
100% nailed on if Arry gets the England job he will pick Scholes also for Euro 12.

It just goes towards demonstrating what many of us have known for a long time, football writers are predetermined to be overly complimenatry towards United. The United based bias in the media isn't a myth, something City fans feel exists but in reality does not, it is very real. The fact that anyone could vote Paul Scholes, a man who was retired until January, as having had a better season than, oh, lets say Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany, Joe Hart, Yaya Toure or David Silva, 4 of whom made the Premiership team of the year, the other being nominated for both player and young player of the year, is farcical.

Well put. There is no myth, it's very real. And in many cases very obvious.
I've said it many times; the media is based in London, journalists are all London yuppie luvvies who are all London club or Rag/Liverpool fans. There's no way on earth they'll write positively about City. There are odd exceptions, Martin Samuel and Gabriele Marcotti for example, but on the whole they are all pro-Rags/Liverpool and pro-London club and they're all jealous/fearful/anxious about City and will damn our name as often as they can.

The idiots that have compiled this list don't even seem to have a website. I have looked to see if there was a number 5, or 6 or any kind of list but the world wide web is devoid of anything from their association. Perhaps they were only allowed to vote for those 4 players ? Total and utter bollocks, but f*ck 'em.

You only have to watch Sunday Supplement to know that the vast majority of these fuckers know fuck all about football. Their opinions on the game are about as relevant as the resident drunk down at your local boozer.

1. Van Persie
2. Rooney
3. Scholes

No 3 is a fucking insult to some of our players. What a fucking joke.

It just shows how far the media are up the rags arses, considering that Scholes has played 10 - 12 games this season even less when this was actually decided it just gives you some indication of how farcical this is.
