For those of you deluding yourselves

Just what do we practice in training it certainly isn't defending or team work.

My thoughts exactly!!

Starting to lose my patience now!!

What annoys me is Mark Hughes never comes out and gives his players a public bollicking!

Never says its unacceptable we were crap and it wont happen again like other managers do!!

At this point in the season results dont bother me as much as performances, and ours have been dismal. I posted after the early season wins when i thought we were very lucky and relied on given far too much. Look at the Palace, and Blackburn games. Wolves hit the bar in a 1-0, and dont make the mistake i made which was to sit down and watch the Arsenal game again thinking we had been the better side - they fucking battered us.

I see people saying, Fulham and Wigan are good side, Burnley are doing a Hull, dont underestimate Birmingham, yadda yadda. Fact is we have played 11 games, 8 of these have been against team in the bottom half, and teams that will finish in the bottom half. So what on earth makes you think we are going to do better against the top half sides??

The performances have been shocking, and nothing in the 60+ games Hughes has been in charge makes me think, oh he is going to turn this around. Time to gel, we get better in 2nd half of the season, not his team, its elanos fault.... seriously folks. Mark Hughes is not going to win anything, given one, two, three, four seasons or £100m, £200m, £300m.

Can we at least get the simple things right, for example, is it an improvement if we manage to play our left footed left winger on the left and our right footed right winger on the right?

agreed,

is there anybody that didnt realise, that playing a right footed player on the right wing, and a left footed player on the left wing, was the only sane thing to do.

oh wait a minute there was one person.{-(

Like Phil Brown, for instance? Or Rafa Benitez? I hope I never ever ever hear MH give ANY city player a public bollocking. When bollockings are needed, let it be done behind closed doors.

When Ade celebrated in front of the Gooners, I have no doubt MH gave him an earful, yet MH himself - an intelligent man - went on air and said Ade had a special affinity with the City fans in the corner (the ones he did not look at) and wanted to celebrate with them. We all know that was horseshit, and MH duly got pilloried for it, but the point is that MH was copping as much flak as he could for Ade's silliness. The more a manager covers your backside in public and deals with your issues behind closed doors, the better.

If you read what any of the players have said about the Burnley game they all know it was unacceptable. We all know we should be putting teams like Burnley away (especially at home) if we have any serious ambitions to be top 4 challengers. On the other hand, we haven't lost in regulation time all season, and only lost in the warped time/space vortex that exists at the swamp.

Rome was not built in a day. And it never would have been built if Romulus had sacked the architect in his second season.

After Petrov had been on for about 10 mins, he took a corner in the NW corner of the ground.

The ball went out for a goal kick. On his way back towards our half Petrov went back over to the left hand side. Sweep was also going back to the left hand side. You could see Rigsby shouting and gesturing at Sweep to switch baxck, so that MP would be on the left and SWP on the right. Sweep didn't notice and played the rest of the game on the left.

Are you saying MH was responsible for that too?

Or were you referring to Sweep?

Also dispite him signing loads of great players for the squad he blindly sticks with and keeps playing the same players who are blantly having a nightmare or are just not interested in playing for the team i.e Lescott, Bridge, Tevez and Barry.

Hughes' task this season is to get a top six place. If he does that then he will retain his place as manager.

If he surpasses that then it's all gravy as they say.

Just to throw petorl on the bonfire.......I am of the opinion that if we had Dunne at the back with Toure instead of Lescott, we would not be in this poor form.

I appreciate it takes time for defences to gel and players to integrate fully blah blah blah, but from my memory we looked a lot tighter at the back first three games this season

I was quick to call Dunney and the mistakes he's made over the years, but I think on reflection I vastly underestimated how much he held it all together at the back for us

i really liked richard dunne even though he had problems, the same problems lescott and toure have, which are.

we have fullbacks who cant defend for shit.

zab is a good player, but not a fullback

richards is an enigma at one time he could tackle and win the ball and had great speed. now he hardly ever tackles and seems to have lost the ability to recover from his poor positional play.

bridge is probably not as good a left fullback as glynn pardoe, arthur mann, willie donache, clive wilson, etc. going forward hes not bad but defensively dear god hes tosh

I take it you didn't see the home game against Spurs last season? Or Everton? Or the away games at Bolton? or Newcastle? How many points did his own goals, red cards or individual errors cost us last season? When he was sent off against Hambburg with us needing a goal everyone in the stadium knew it was all over. Even if we'd scored we would have gone down in extra time. A stupid mistake cost us a shot at our first European semi final since 1971 and our first semi final of any sort since 1981.

Dunnie was a legend - first name on the team sheet - for many years, and I will always love him for what he did for this club. But last year was his worst in a City shirt for many years, since he was in his early 20s IMO. Maybe he would have got it back this season, after all he started this season well, but then again everyobody did.

I am so glad we won in Barca as his last meaningful act for City was to lift that trophy - but it was time to go.

Players are good. Problem is that our coaches do not appear to be able to coach a defence. Also our team do not play to their best advantage. Take the Burnley game as an example: -
Is there anyone familiar with the Premiership who does not know that Burnley only know one way to play, they attack. This has resulted in them getting stuffed most times they are away from home. Burnley unlike most away teams do not play to sneak a goal on a break away. So what does our mastermind do – he decides to play without a defensive midfielder. Next time we play at home against a lone striker he will probably have two defensive midfielders on the pitch.
