Plays where hes told to play, if its higher up so be it

Ok, so let's put it like this then, when he's played/picked as a defender, do you rate him.......not forward, not shooting, defending?
I did until he got injured versus Spurs

The silence is deafening Squirty, for the benefit of the tape there was no reply...........

It's a shame it's not American Football and you could just bring him on for free kicks eh?

What stands out for me and says it all is when you talk to people or read peoples posts that nobody comments on his defending, only his shooting?

He's employed and picked first and foremost to defend and people only talk about his shooting, that speaks volumes, in my opinion?

Plays where hes told to play, if its higher up so be it

Whilst i'm in no way a fan of Kolarov (although he's not as bad as made out), i think that's a pretty simplistic view of the role of the modern fullback. In fact i'd argue that for the very best teams (or any team that aims to dominate possession), defensive ability is almost secondary to attacking the ability of full-backs.

Not if the opposition has possession and your defending it's not? ;-)

It maybe simplistic but it highlights part of the role of a "full back" that either makes you average, good or great

Kolarov is fucking hopeless, he's just been lucky that he plays in a side as good as we are otherwise he'd have been exposed far more.

Kolarov is a good attacking full back, he's just been unlucky that he plays in a side as good as we are otherwise his goal scoring and assisting abilities would grab much bigger headlines than they do (like Baines). ;)

You're being Sinclair-ist!! :-(

You forgot to add Garcia & Kolorov!!

I Don't mind Kolorov
Oh right.... you're the one!! :-)

I think he has his uses and I'd much rather keep him over the likes of Garcia and Sinclair. We should remember his great free kicks.

The problem is we have been blessed with so many quality left backs over the years, we've become spoilt.

David Brightwell
Tony Vaughan
Michael Frontzeck
Jason Van Blerk

To name a few....

Saw my contact today - all I will say is he said that he is mad busy sorting out the last ins and outs.
