Foreign Film Thread!

I watched a film called Cell 211 today it's a Spanish film about a guard who gets caught up in a riot within a prison. It's a great watch, and is quite moving at times.

If you mean A Serbian Film, then that is one sick and disturbing film but a good film as well.

I'm in exactly the same boat. Had it off a mate at work some time back but not watched it yet. I think i'll wait until I get a female round. Wine, food and a Serbian Film.

Hi guys, can someone confirm which one to watch out of these two please?

Mesrine: Public Enemy No. 1 (<a class="postlink" href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0411272/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0411272/</a>)

or

Mesrine: Killer Instinct (<a class="postlink" href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1259014/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1259014/</a>)

They were both released at the same time, so I don't know which is the sequel to which, if indeed it is a sequel.

My latest recommendation would be "[Rec]". Very good Spanish horror film.

Killer Instinct is the first film and are yes they are parts 1 & 2.

What im trying to say is WATCH IT. also sorry if already mentioned haven't read whole thread.

also "pans labyrinth" is awesome.

Just finished watching 'The Skin I Live In'. My father watched it a few weeks ago and said it was a bit too weird for him. Normally we have similar taste in films so started watching with a bit of apprehension.

What a fucking surprise! There is almost nothing better than being blown away by a film you were sat back expecting to be weak. I even sat through the credits at the end because I enjoyed the music so much. Great acting, directing, camera work, soundtrack!

Really recommend this film to anyone who enjoys foreign films. Almost Lynch-esque, however with a more tangible story line.

Warning thought; the film dives head first into some pretty challenging and bizarre concepts, I can see some viewers finding it a bit tedious.

Any other 'Mooners enjoy this film? I get the feeling this will be a film that will divide film lovers.

Watched Elite Squad, the enemy within and loved it. Also is The Bicycle Thieves a foreign film? I've not seen it but it often gets mentioned in people's top films. Is it any good - foreign or not?

Aguirre Wrath of God.
Spanish Conquistadores in search of El Dorado. Chilling study of madness and despair set in magnificent scenery. It as a extremely realistic earthy feel about it. Stars Klaus Kinski as Aguirre. I picked the disc up for a song then sold it to Magpie (regrettably) where it fetched more than any of the others I sold with it.<br /><br />-- Sat Jul 14, 2012 5:13 am --<br /><br />Frontiere.

French horror film, gory, very gory, but in the best possible taste.
