Forget Eto'o, Villa, Kaka and all

Barry, Bridge & Robinho can all put a wicked ball in the box. Am I forgetting anyway, it's too early...

Players get injured - it's part of the game.

I'd love to see a fit Santa Cruz at City. we need a big, powerful goal-scoring centre-forward, and RSC is amongst the best and most skilful of this type. The alternatives are Carlton Cole, Drogba, Carew & Adebayor. I'd take Santa Cruz out of those, although I'd want to be sure that he's over the tendonitis problems.

logic at last, RSC is a cracking player and one hell of a handful - skillful, quick and good in the air.

he won't be the only striker we buy so i don't see the problem, wouldnt be happy if we had paid 20-25mil for him but at the rumoured 12-15mil then he would be excellent value for money.

players like Forlan and Eto'o would have to get up to speed in the Prem whilst RSC has already proved he can bang them in in the Prem.

would be a good buy imo and form part of 4/5 quality strikers we require at the club - Bellamy, RSC, Tevez and Eto'o would be a decent quartet - only issue would be 2 that have struggled with injuries, however Robbie is in reality a centre forward so he can be lumped in to make the 5th.
 
The possibility that we may get Santa Cruz doesn't mean that we're not signing anyone else. The whole world & his dog have been saying that we need the option of a bit of height up front. that doesn't mean he has to start every game.

I very much doubt that we'd stop at Santa Cruz who is mainly a target man, we'll sign a goalscorer as well.

exactly RSC would be a good buy (assuming he stay fit)
 
I agree with the other posters - I can't see Santa Cruz being our only signing up front, therefore he makes up part of the squad. If rumours are to be believed, a strikeforce of Eto'o, Tevez, Santa Cruz, Bellamy and Bojinov (if he stays) looks pretty good to me - you can't say there's many better in the league!

The only issue I have is the timing of his signing. I don't think Tevez will want to delay signing until 1st July can see him being unveiled at club on 1st July but I am pretty certain Kia Ora said his decision will be taken after next round of world cup games which in my book is next week. No reason why he can't sign a pre contract agreement go on holiday then when he comes back the big unveiling so to speak. Interesting this info coming out of Spuds board, please keep us posted.

Bellamy is the only player I can think of who he signed and got injured. He made a big impact for us, and will have a big role to play next season

Petrov, Bojinov, Johnson, Benjani, Richards, Vassell were not signed by Hughes

Certainly not the one that I saw last season.One good season-then sussed, injured,did nothing when he played then sulked on the bench!

His record in six seasons at Bayern is crap.31 goals in 155 games.

I just don't know why where he's got this reputation as being some kind of "top player" from?

We can do far better.

Injurys are a big big worry with Santa Cruz & he really needs carefully checking out but imo that's the only worry. If he's fit he's the best header of a ball in the PL, has a lightning quick brain, absolutely fantastic 1st touch, best in the PL at holding the ball up, can shoot with both feet & beat a man as he proved embarrassingly to Richard Dunne & he's exactly what we need to compliment our dwarves up front. We don't sign him as a goalscorer, we sign him to set them up but if fit, he'll score plenty for us anyway.

Absolute quality player.
 
Why dont Mark Hughes just marry RSC ?...then he can be near him every day instead of spending all his time trying to get the injury prone, one season wonder in our team !
